Where were you two weeks ago when I had my Suburban Vortec rebuilt??? My Vortec is now 5.8 L makes about 300 HP and has a warranty now but yours sound like it would have done the job too.

The GM 383 at the dealer costs $5,700, which is the direct fit service replacement for trucks.
