As I think, it's the original-paint. Some portions was ovcerpainted, as I found out.
the engine-room was my idea. totally silver gray. some parts of the engine was already chromium! that's why I used a special CHROM-spray for the rest. (professional-chrom is here nearly impossible. if it's no more nice, another spray will help. That's the way, we have to maintain our cars here.

A stabiliser from the front axel to the chassis, about 2cm thick, broke down. I went to the machine shop for professional welding! he told me: if it's broken again, we can cut the bar; add a new piece. the rest of the bar, fixed to the trapez, could be made by the BLACKSMITH!
anyway: it works!
For example: overhaulinmg a ISUZU C240; incl. cranckshaft, pistons,liners,bearings,Clutch-disc: I payed about 650 USD!

Welcome Hanspeter. We would see the occasional 6 cylinder big Pontiac in Canada, but I cant remember seeing a 1969 Parisienne with one. Your car has a front stabilizer bar, does it? Normally the six-cylinder Big Cars left them off unless it was a station wagon or Parisienne, or even if it was ordered with heavy-duty chassis equipment (which included a 12-bolt rear axle). What body style is it? A four-door hardtop without the window frames? I dont see a transmission dipstick, does your car have a 3-speed manual?
I was in Florida in 1975 camping when the campers next to use arrived which several vehicles, one of which was a silver 1969 Laurentian 4-door. It had a 6-cylinder, Turbohydramatic 350 transmission, power steering and power drum brakes.

he has a front-stabiliser from left to right. as You can see in the picture, he has also the stabilizers (the one was brocken), an each side, from the trapez to the chassis. it adjust the trapez direct fron/back.
if it's different to the one you know, there is maybe a explination: this car was assambled in MANILA, by the Motor-company YUTIVO. I don't know, what parts they use, from which car. Can also be, that they assembled it with other models or years?
this company assembled cars, to undermine big taxes. right now, they do the same in the philippines with "surplace" from korea and japan. and, 1969 was the time of praesident marcos, who was a closed allie of the phils. (allie or puppet????)

Even without Sticker, our car is one of the most photographed vehicle in bohol. Not only, but also Canadiens, start to talk with me about this Pontiac Parisienne. It's amazing for me. The cabine is now a little bit covered, to protect the original upholstery. The rear-loudspeakers are now fixed in a 1 inch wood; for better sound. In front, down left and right, are now 2 midrange-loudspeakers. some parts inside, included the cords around the dor, was now covered by a smooth textile.(they was no more ok befor.)
the not original aircon was now removed, coz the radiator covered the engine-radiator too much. result was overheating. now it's ok. anyway, I hate aircon!

Could check the flow in rad. with the cap off & see if there is movement. I still think running "NO T/STAT" is not a good idea. There is nothing to slow the flow down so that the rad can cool the engine down. I don't seem to follow what he's saying about it runs "hot" in 3rd gear because of hills & has to run in 2nd. gear, & it cooler, that doesn't make sense as it would run hotter with the engine turning higher RPM , unless this is when the fan will suck some air thru the rad????? Usually when you get into high gear [3rd] the engine will drop in temp, as coolant has a chance to cool down, not rushing thru rad, w/engine at high RPM'S??? Just a Thought

OK, that was news to me. I didn't realize that Canadian Pontiacs had their own division code. What year did that start?
Does that 903 paint code mean anything to anyone? I can't cross it to any other paint codes. Also, I don't see the 542 interior on any 69 Pontiac interior chart.

Hey Pete I agree with you on a thermostat helping slow down the coolant. I have found on occasion especially with the first motorhome I had was when I dropped her down a gear and let her rev good she ran way cooler. I think it's the combination of your engine not working as hard because it's not lugging and you are drawing quite a bit more air through too. On a couple real extreme hills I'd drop it right into first and do about 25 miles an hour and I remember passing numerous vehicles stopped on the side boiled over. She'd be revving pretty good but would never boil over.
now, this AM, i installed a thermostat. (a working one). the result was, that the engine got more hot, already in the danger. then, on the middle of the road, iI removed the thermostat. the temp. went down. still too hot, like I wrote already.
we checked also the flow of the waterpump. looks like ok. driving with 60-70kmh, gear 3, caused encreasing of the temp.
more and more looks like locking airflow trough the rad. even the rad is totally overhauld and clean. the additional e3lectric-fan can't help to decrease the temp. he is only working in stand-gas a little bit.
what do You think abaout changing the angle of the propeller-wings? they are maybe too flat?
