The car is orange right now and has been painted a few times-believe it or not-someone put an impala console and it was converted over to an automatic-weird.Car is extremeely rusty except the trunk because someone spilt a bunch of oil in there which really preserved it well.Needs everything for sure-but it is down the road for a while because my 68 SD convertible is getting finished first.I also have another wagon that is ready for paint as well-lots going on-just have to priorize which gets done first thats all.I have all new sheet metal for the 69 SD so when the rag is done I'll get it going for sure.I have aquired all the options it came with as well.

John, if I remember correctly from another post a year or so ago, you bought your 69 SD in NB?
In that thread we were talking about a black 69 SD post car somewhere in Manitoba, but the black post car in this thread is obviously a different car (?)
That would make at least 2 SD 396 post cars , if my math is correct..wink

Here is another one of my dumb stories ie a situation that I didn't take advantage of. A 68 Beaumont SD Convertible was advertised for sale in Woodstock in about 1992 or thereabouts. I went to look at it and it was Vedora green, white interior, bench seat, original paint, a large dent in the drivers side quarter however absolutely no rust, and the car was dismantled. The gentleman told me at the time that the original engine was on the bench behind the car, which I looked at and he was honest, ie it was the correct engine. I asked what the big block was in it and he replied that it was out of the 69 SD that I had passed coming in the driveway. I noticed the car however it had nothing distinct about it. He advised they had just installed a small block and had repainted it red. There was no striping or insignia to indicate this was an SD. He then told me it was an original orange car and I asked if it was the one that sat at the Gulf station at Parkinson Rd. and 401; he replied, yes thats the car. I passed this car frequently when I travelled from Brantford to London therefor there may be a small block looking Beaumont around that area that is really a big block SD with nothing to indicate what it is. Someone may be aware of this car in that area as it was perfect in 1992 or so. I went back a second time to look at that 68 SD however I had so many other cars I didn't need another project although the asking price of $4,500 was fair even at that time. Oh well. I heard it went to Quebec however I have no proof of that. Doug
