Be careful Mike. You already have one project car that is causing you grief. You don't want to get in too deep on another one...

Try to find an old car with the words "southern" or "western". It will save you tons of grief!

I'll find something cool for ya.

Mike, take an old fools advice and forget that POS. Mopars can be expensive to restore, a lot more than a GM. Been there, done that and lost money.nobleh

Of course there are tons of 4 doors going cheap. How about a 67 Valiant 4 door with 28000 original miles. Only 2 grand!

Ok, this is an import however old Beetles are super cheap and easy to work on. This one is from Arizona and apparently has a rebuilt engine for under 5 grand!

So, obviously not being just a "Buick" guy and being an "old car" guy you will find a ton of good buys. I really think this beetle is a great buy and there is a HUGE aftermarket for these cars.

Old caddies that need full resto can be pricey to restore. There isn't a huge aftermarket and from what I remember the interior in that one is trashed.

Remember when i said i had orphans i have two of these things all i can say chysler wiring sucks. and could never get more than 20mpg out of the thing no mater what tricks i used. the pontiacs easily get 25 and more with bigger engines and more rpm. but i do respect how well they ride and handle smooth.

The rust is the only reason to stay away from the Monaco. It's a unibody and it can add up the $$$ to get the chassis fixed. If the rust isn't too bad the rest of the stuff is cheap enough to find at swap meets or online. I really like the old Mopars and the specific Monaco stuff can be had cheap as no one is restoring them and parts cars are around. There is a convertible in Kitchener for a parts car.

That's more like it! These are awesome cruisers 500 cubes of gas swilling power. The ad is wrong, as it states rear wheel drive, and all Eldo's are front drive from 67 on. If it has no chassis rust issues, i.e. frame, windshield pillar rust, steering column have wiring issues (easy to replace). They were known to snap front axles due to the tremendous torque, also a cheap fix now or drive chains in the tranny's could also break. Take it for a drive!!!

Mike. where does it say the 72 "eldo" is certified. Just because a dealer has it,or is selling it, doesn't mean it certified. Unless you called to find out??? Dealers can sell vehicles "as is" just the same as anyone else can,if the car needs work & they don't want to certify it or take responsability of signing the inspection. Don't ASSUME it just gets you in trouble!!!!
