Cool Event for Alantic Province Canadian Poncho members

Gene Winfield Custom Automotive Workshop

Registrations are now being accepted for the Greater Moncton Gene Winfield Custom Car Workshop. We are honoured to have him here in New Brunswick all the way from Mojove California. Gene brings to us years of car customizing experience at a level that is second to none and is willing to share this wealth of knowledge with us. We will be touching on a range of items from a top chop to english wheel, metal fabrication, hammer welding, metal shrinking and classroom sessions.

The host shop will be:

Foreign Car Service and Hot Rod, 2525 Lakeburn Rd, near the Moncton Airport (exit 474, intersection of TCH Hwy 2 and Scoudouc Rd) Watch for signs. Doors will open Saturday April 3 / 2010 at 7:45am with a start time of 8:30am and run until 4:30pm, the same hours will be on Sunday April 4/ 2010

The show will be a hands on event with workshop participants actually working together with Gene on the project cars (It doesnt get any better than that!!!) So leave the shirt and tie at home, bring your coveralls and plan to get dirty!!! However if you are more comfortable to observe and learn from a distance, that is welcomed also.

Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided through-out the day as well as a lunchtime meal, no need to leave the worksite, so you wont miss a minute of the action.

Gene will have items for sale during the event for you to purchase as souvenirs of the our time working together.

Once more, this is a golden opportunity to work side by side and interact with a legend of our favourite craft (aka: hobby, obsession, weakness - you choose) I hope we can all come away with fond memories of this weekend workshop and add to our overall ability to improve our workmanship and skill level.

Thanks again and enjoy! Andy

Fine print: Safety is our number one priority, safe work practices are a necessity. Safety boots with steel toe or equivalent are required and if you have a favourite pair of safety glasses bring them along, they will be needed when participating in the build (some extra glasses will be on site if you require them) basic hearing protection will be available also. Each show participant will be required to sign a liability waiver.

If you require further information call Andy MacDonald at 506-866-1590 cell 506-384-0396 home

Watch and listen for updates concerning a tentative open house meet and greet on Friday evening April 2/ 2010 from 6-9pm, we hope to feature a few local automotive related vendors displaying their products. This is a chance for an informal friendly gathering to precede the custom car event. There will be more info to follow as the workshop draws near.

Guys, better get some more info on this, they had one in our area last fall & it's EXPENSIVE to register [ at least to me it was] Think it was $ 300 bucks but I could be off there, memory isn't 100% but I know it was in the hundreds & couldn't afford it, even though it is likely a great workshop effort!!!

The workshop in Oshawa last fall was $400.00 . No doubt that the info and experience is well worth it.  Too expensive for a casual observer like me, but the free lunch almost swayed me.  If you are a custom car builder, then its likely an inexpensive way to work and learn with a legend and get a pic to prove it for you shop wall. If my GP is done and the weather is nice......who knows.
