I'm watching speed vision & they showed at starter mtr. off one of the cars that failed. It had a double bendix gear on it. one small gear & a larger one!! Never seen this before, anybody know "what gives" with this????

This driving me "nuts" but then the 5 watt light bulb came on in my head!!!  Could this "possibly" be for 2 different size flywheels?? They would have to be spaced out from crank at different  spacing to engage the different spacing on "bendix" drive??? Just a thought!!!!

sounds good   I looked and looked, and thought of a gear reduction, which is sorta two gears..

I thought that too Carl, but the gears were 1 behind the other, not driving each other, so NOT gear reduction!!!
