Caution, non car related thread!

Up at 5:20 because I was so excited!

All ready to go and out the door before 7:00 on the way to Kenora to check on our summer cabin,  also another cabin a bunch (10) of us share and my brother's cabin, all within an hour of each other. Good forecast, and at least 2 Tim's on my route!

The old guy needs a haircut! One large coffee and an apple fritter behind me, by 9:15 I'm 150 miles from home, outside temp has risen from -18 when I left to -6!

First stop, the shared cabin. Park out on the highway, walk in 15 minutes through deep snow. Walk to the front of the deck, look out at the lake. Crap! An ice  (or a nice) road right past the front of the cabin. Could have parked 100 feet from shore!

Deer tracks everywhere, not a deer in sight the whole day. Off past my cousin's cabin to my brother's.  Lots of wolf tracks, not a wolf in  ................whoops, what's that???

Ok, one wolf in sight!

Check my brother's, then back to town, hop in with my friend in his truck with his sled in tow. Another fritter and coffee down the hatch!

15 minute sled ride in from the Trans Canada and oh, the beauty of it. I love it. Pictures don't do it justice.

By mid afternoon it was 0 outside. What a nice day!

Almost a mirror image of the morning as I neared home about 6:15.

There was tons of ice fishermen out.

The ice roads were great. Lots of times I was going 90 kmh in the Roadmaster. Nothing like driving a "boat" on an ice road!

Great MH day, yup!

Thanks Mark. It is so much fun! I drove almost 400 miles today and the radio was never on. I just love the beauty of the outdoors.

And believe me, it was tempting to light the fire and call in sick tomorrow!!!
