66-67 rear tail light

I was installing tail lights on my 67 sd and noticed they were different . Since i have about 5 of them im not sure if some were 66 and some 67. The casting # are different. #3400018 has been painted on the inside( where the lens sits) while the#3392620 is chromed all the way inside. Is this a 66/67 thing or 4 dr 2 dr thing? Also would anyone know the paint code for the inside of that tail light.

Thanks

Tom

I'm confused. The tail lights on the '67 is completely different from the '66 as far as I know.

I have had about 5 sets of tailight housings and lenses and I agree with OURWAGON they are the same. When I attended the Dayton Convention last year the man that designed them was there, Jim Ewen. When he was viewing my Acadian Jim pointed out that he saved money for GM by designing them so they were for either side. He was a cool dude.

painted inserts were SD -- invader were plain -- have seen both on Canso, but I think painted were supposed to be SD only
