Hey there, look what I just picked up this weekend,I'm pretty stoked about the car.I just had to do a burn out in my garage. The car has been stored for 20 plus years and owned for 37 years by the previous owner who is a stand up guy

the car is originally a 283 ,2 sp glide car but now boasts a 350 horse 327 ci and a 3 spd auto, which may change to a 4 spd auto or manual.Whats your thoughts? Mike

4 speed manual. I had to think about that one for all of about 2 seconds!
I have my 65 Canso SD that I am converting to 4 speed.
In the next few years I will get at my 67 Nova SS factory 327 glide car that will also be converted to 4 speed. To me, there is nothing like a 4 speed muscle car.
Boy, that sounds like a cool Acadian. I hope that you don't mind me chasing you down on my next trip to Strathmore which could be this year....

Yes add $$$ the 4 speed then you can do burnouts!!!
don't mind at all, stop by have a beverage and talk cars.I heard a rumor you may have a relative in strathmore, correct? Also macleod is coming out with a wizzy 5 and 6 speed manual to compete with tremec transmissions as well so that may be an option. You are right about bangin gears.
As long as there is a Coke machine on the way to your place, that's all I require! If it was me, I'd just do a Muncie and keep it original unless there is a conversion to fit the stock tunnel. A car like that is worth more uncut I'm sure. I thought the 5 and 6 speeds were too big for that tunnel.

According to the AMC website, the owner of McLeod could not confirm how many components are sourced from China but for 2300us its a deal...
I heard that rumor of 5 and 6 speed trans as well not fitting the tunnel.i will not cut the car in fact had concerns cutting the small hole for the shifter.I will do the conversion when i find a 4 speed console.

Not too crazy about a Chinese trans in my car,
BUT the one in the picture, would put the shifter, in my back seat

Then the wife could shift...
I agree about the chinese trans, but isn't the shifter able to be moved on the transmision?
Very very nice. That car looks to be puttin down a double strip of rubber in your shop too. I'd have to go four speed if you can find the original stuff.....
