65' Impala Convertable - now $500! I am cutting it up at the end of the month!

I bought this car, and managed to lose the title before transferring it into my name. The guy I bought it off of never transferrred the title either, so I can't get one off of him. So no title for the car.

It has new quarters installed but they need finished, as well as new rockers. There has been some floor work going on also. Has a new pair of doors on it. The interior is all there, but beat up. The top fabric is toast, but the top frame is good. IIRC it has power steering and brakes, and a 10 bolt rear. Interior is white.
Car has a Th350 in it, and a V8 radiator, but no engine.

Will need to floors finished or redone, and a new set of fenders. Trunk lid could use some work also. Bottom of frame is rotten at the front of the drivers side kickup but is repairable. No bumpers.

I am soo pissed off at myself for loosing the title I don't even want to look at the thing.

I got a signed ownership when I bought it, and managed somehow to loose it between his place and my house. The car is not stolen or anything...I just did a stupid.

Take the vin. and pay the $20 for the transfer package. If the package comes up it will at least get you the owners name that it was last registered in. That is where you can start a search to get it transfered. If no package comes up you can easily get the title in your name as an unfit vehicle.

Last time I had a car with no ownership & had to go see a Judge & swear out a affadavid[?] to get paper work to take to MOT & get a ownership, that was awhile ago, things may have changed?? If you get in touch with registered last owner, lets hope he doesn't want the car back!!!

I did the same thing went down to city hall and swear on a affadaved ,than took that letter to mto and got new title.

If I part it out, I will easily make the money I paid for it back. After getting a good look at this car, it is just a parts car.

I have already been offered $300 for the good doors, and someone has inquired about the power brake stuff and the top's header bow, but I have no idea what they are worth. Another guy is asking about the rear seat and side panels.

I don't want to get into parting cars - I don't have the space. If its not sold by the end of the month, I am going to take a few parts I can use and send it to the crusher to at least get something back.

Rick. price of scrap was 135 bucks a tonn last week. I'd get what you can for the parts & then haul whats left to the yard. I'm sure you can get your $500 out of it, $300 for the doors, $100 for the booster & m/cyl. + the seat & trim panels etc. Take what you think will sell after that & junk it!!

I have sent off about 10 lost vin forms and all the guys that were still around were great. Take the chance and you should find some good natured people for sure. Most guys were just glad that the cars were still around. I talked for one hour on the phone with one guy.

I checked the price for scrap cars yesterday and it was $150 a ton. Looks like the price is starting to climb again. There sure is a lot of good parts left on the car.

  I have one posted like this as well..........(lol)  '69 Impala Custom, console and buckets. At the end of the month I too will part it and then sell the pieces for more money!!! (Funny!)

How is the frame on the one you are cutting up?

It will actually go under 65-70 cars. The only difference is a minor one in the front frame horns. Someone can buy both cars and get a good convertable from it!

Think the frame is good and that is one of the parts I am going to keep. It will go under my '67 Grande or the '70 2+2 Rag I have coming from Kelowna. I put a '70 4-dr frame under my '67 2+2 Coupe and all I had to change was the rear section of the frame. I may sell the console and buckets but not sure yet!
