RE: Is Insurance going up?

Im not on that list, the two companies i mentioned insure the uninsurable, go figure thier clients would run into someone. i found out that im on thier black list when i was going to change companies and by accident wanted a quote, i was sent a very unplesant letter. I have had a clean record for thrity years plus.

A few years ago I bought insurance through PC Financial..
I was happy with their banking and credit card..
I started with the 2001 2500HD truck
Same coverage each year  no miles to work senior and multi-car discounts
                  2007-08  $587.00 for year
                  2008-09  $572.00
                  2009-10  $629.00

So I added  2007 Suburban
                  2008-09 $669.00
2009-10 $736.00        The broker is PC Fin.  and insurance is  Scottish&York...

Today I got notices, explaining that they has "shopped around for me" to get the" best possible coverage"

    So     2001 2500HD    2010-11   $1265.00
and       2007 Suburban   2010-11   $1731.00...      The broker is PC Fin.  and insurance is  Pilot (Aviva)

HOW DID THEY DO????????confuse

As a follow up, I  got coverage with my "old broker" for $828.00 for the year  for the Suburban...  saved 903.00!!

It's hard to figure them out. A few years ago I worked with a guy who swears his insurance company dumped him. Why? No, he never had a claim. That was why! Statistically he was "due" for a claim so they figured they better be safe than sorry!

I HATE dealing with insurance. Last year when we had the basement trouble i called our agent and let him know. I thought we were covered for the damage. I was told by an adjuster no. In the meantime though our agent called, finally, and left a message that we were covered. Well i played that back for the adjuster...needless to say the agent's blunder was good for us. Our policy is adjusted now and we got the coverage and just had to pay the deductible for the repair, which we then claimed on our taxes this year.

I have been paying for years in the range of about $1200 - $1400 per vehicle for a 98 Chev Silverado 4x4 Z71 and a 99 Chev Tahoe 4X4. The vehicles were new when we bought them. The last time the wife or I were in an accident was at least 20 plus years ago and I think we paid for it instead of going through insurance. I have been driving for 30 years or so.

Now the frustrating part about insurance. Every year I notice that the cost of insurance is slightly going up. I have paid in the neighbourhood of  about $30,000 over the years on the vehicle since they were new. The insurance company continues to slowly increase my premiums. The vehicles due to their age are almost worthless at roughly $4000 or so a piece. So woo hoo, heaven forbid if I do get into an accident and the vehicle is a write off (which will more than likely be the case as it will cost them more to fix it than pay me out), I will likely get about $4000. Yeah.

I guess that I must be paying my premiums to pay for every other accident prone person out there.

Over the past 5 decades of buying insurance, including having State Farm tell me (after 35 years of paying premiums for auto and home insurance to them) that they would not insure my household contents because I was less than 1000 feet (they claimed it was 997 feet) from the ocean (and yes, I did tell them to go f**k themselves and changed my car insurance too), and living in Florida where after one bad hurricane season (one consequence of which was nobody would insure my 41' boat anymore, even after I had paid tens of thousands of insurance premiums without a claim) home insurance rates tripled, and lots of other financial screwings from the money-grubbing insurance industry:

INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE ALL OUT TO SCREW YOU AND THEY DO NOT CARE ONE IOTA ABOUT YOU ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY AND THE F**KING POLITICIANS ARE IN BED WITH THEM SINCE YOU CANNOT GET A HOME LOAN OR CAR REGISTRATION WITHOUT INSURANCE.

AND I JUST WANT TO STRANGLE THAT WEASEL ACTOR WHO SAYS "YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS" AND I WANT TO PUT THAT censored.gif GEICO GECKO IN THE M***F*** BLENDER!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant but I believe it is well deserved.

And the best you can do is waste your valuable time (hey, you could be out in the garage, eh?) shopping around for the least venal insurance company.

Dave

Have had Zehr Ins. for the cars, and 2 yrs ago had Jeremy quote on the daily drivers, and the house. Put everything with Zehr, and cheaper than Gray Power.
