Anyone know if this guy is OK ? healthy ? etc... ?

He's a member here and contacted me back in December about my 66 Beaumont Custom convertible. After several e-mails, photo exchanges and a couple telephone calls he came down to see my car-although I had no real intention of selling it-I had decided I would and just add money to that amount to purchase David's 67 SD rag, Gilles offered me $15,000 for mine but I told him what I had in it and what I was content with (less than his offer) he told me he'd come and get it after Christmas, David's then sold but a deal is a deal, we contacted each other several times agreeing that he needed to unlock some funds before purchasing, at the end of January I offered to cover the shipping to Ayr (where he lives) if he got the deal completed that week-I suggested borrowing the money until government funds could be released-he said he'd try and thats the last I heard of him, another month has now past and spring is fast approaching, a couple tire kickers approached me on the car through the winter because they heard through the grape vine it might be available but I was attached to Gilles. I have sent him some e-mails with no reply. I'm very surprised he seemed so sincere-the integrity of site members has seemed so high in the past so I see no reason he wouldn't follow through-hope he's OK-if anyone knows him let him know I was asking. In the mean time I'm stuck in limbo

I say he was just a typical time waster. If I were you I would look up his address and send the police over looking for a dead body, if he is dead they can put him in the ground so he doesn't stink, if he's alive it'll embarass him enough not to waste anyone else's time, either way he stinks.

Sorry for my rant but I'm 56 and really tired of the time wasters through the years, I have waited around for one too many over the years, dreamers if you have no money don't look.

IF I feel a guy is wasting my time, I tell them a stupid high # so they go away. I know this wasn't your case, I've invested time with people I thought were sincere, makes a guy mad to think about it.

A call to let a guy now were he's at sure would be polite,,, some people just aren't that considerate.

Thats because you don't believe he's coming back either. If I were confident I would sure bet $100 on a $15,000 sale !

Forget it, he is NEVER buying the car !

I've tried to do the 'right thing' and save a car for someone based on their word.  Sad to say some peoples word is worth nothing...now it's cash talks and BS walks.  If he is serious, or any buyer for that matter a non-refundable deposit will seperate the tire kickers from the serious buyers.  I wouldn't waste my time with this guy..and if you are serious about selling it, let it be known.
