Oh you guys...........

Why do you make me remind you which one of us has the best wife in the world who said "Yes, you do need a shed"...........................

Oh, that would be the same wife who said "you better get the carpenter to build a 12' X 28' mezzanine to store car parts on".

Oh, and said "You can leave all your parts books in the basement so they don't get damaged from being out in the shed."

Don't feel bad. I built it at 50. I think you have a few years to go still.

Yep, 2 kids, 7 & 4, I have a loooooooooooooooooooong way to go yet. Man it's gonna cost me a grand to have them in hockey next year. Shop or kids having fun and exercise, only one choice.... I have GOT to win the lottery soon.

Actually the anticipation and planning is truly about 1/4 of the fun.   Actually building the shop is pretty much another quarter.   Filling it full of your treasures/ parts is  at three quarters and  then actually finshing a project is the other part (and a bit of an anticlimax if the truth would be known), which is why I make sure to never actually finish anything.

Twisted?  Maybe, but i do know how to stretch out the enjoyment!

All I can tell you about my math teacher that you need to know is a little exchange I distinctly remember having with him in Grade Eight.  I was having trouble so I went up to him and said, "You know, I think we should spend more time on the basics because I'm having trouble with this material."  He looked at me sadly and said, "I hate to tell you Ken but these are the basics."
,
However did learn English real good!

I am thinking the basics didn't include adding fractions. 1/4's, for example............!!!!

( See above a few posts!!!)

Ok maybe I was a little vague on the parts(1/4's) but I kept thinking of more aspects of the whole picture.  Its a problem with us children of the 60's if you get my drift.

Its all one of a oneness, man!

(The parts books are groovy man!)

I love doing the mechanical stuff. Hate finish body work and paint, and I won't tackle a severely rusted car again.

For me it's the opposite Chris. I love working on them. Driving them is fun but it's somewhat anticlimactic once the project is finished and been on the road a while.

I like it when i get something accomplished, big or small, and applying something i've learned and it works out. What i don't like is not being very knowledgeable about alot of things that need to be done and the frustration that comes with it. I'm learning but for all the younger guys on here, take advantage of learning early, it will pay dividends later!

biggrinblower.jpgfloorpans.jpgheaders.jpgmotor.jpgtop view.jpgwagon with blower.jpgHeres where Im at now ,after  puling the engine in and out about 2 dozen times for fitting and notching. You should see the shoehorn |I had to use to get it inbiggrinPut new floorpans while I had the interior out cause they were aluminum patches I made in '91.tranny had to come up and back so new tunnel was made from my old trunklid. In order to remove the valvecovers,I had to relocate the brakes to the floor. Just in case I run out of stuff to do,LOL,I had to see how the blower would look on the wagon. And since I cant drive it on the street anymore(solid heads) I figured nothing sounds better with a roots than zoomies.

Whoa brings back memories of "slide that m***f*** in there and quick stuff those bolts in to hold 'er" but I never did the monster motors like you, just a little 355 with stock iron heads (required by the rule book) ...

Looks great Chris, anticipating your next video in the 7's!!!

Dave

Hey, Chris, I just checked out your Bird videos. I'd seen the wagon but not the Firebird! Wow, just wow. Anyone who hasn't seen it, check it out.

And Chris, a question for you. At about 10 seconds from the end of the video, about 2 stalls left of you there is a first generation Nova/Acadian, blue with a white top. Do you happen to know who that is? I don't ever remember seeing that car before.
