Just want your opinions. I need to rebuild my cars Buick 350. I am debating on putting the chevy in. I know most of your cars came with chevy's this isn't a pontiac in a pontiac thing this car never had a pontiac always had this buick. It is getting pricey. Should i just give in and become one "THEM" And on a positive side note My sisters bird is fixable frame is fine just needs a front clip and a few things here and there found most parts.
Are you set on keeping the car original? If not, put in whatever you like. If you put in a Chevy, make sure you buy a parts car because every part, nut, bolt, bracket and fitting is different when changing from a Buick engine.

I was going to point out what Carl has, it is far easier to stay with the Buick engine. For fun, look for a 455 in the salvage yard. Riviera, Estate Wagons, Electras, they all have them. It's not exactly the same as a 350 but it about the same size.

Cost to rebuild the buick will be close to triple the cost of the Chevy, the only thing that won't "swap" out will be the tranny& exhaust system? The wiring harness can be "swung" over to other side of engine to hook up starter mtr. etc. When I "built" my 389 I was shocked at parts price. The next engine I did was a Olds. 350 for a friend, cost of parts was same as Pontiac 389. Last engine was my neighbour's 67 Camaro Convt. 327[was pretty tired] & cost was less than 1/2 of the other two. Chevy's are "way" cheaper" to do!!!!!!
