I'd take this one any day , I mean the 68 . Anybody can buy a new one off the shelf but not anybody can or wants to work on these old beasts so the new ones have their place for sure!   Went to the flames detroit game the other nite with my son and parked beside a black beauty !  The kid parking cars said he would take the IROC !, I was surprised. Sorry not a very good picture

I had a 68 RS/SS big block 4-speed Lemans blue car with tilt,tint,gauges,teak,discs,rallys, M22 added, 410's added and a 427 added-that car was sweet-never drove like the 'A' bodies but was sweet-sold it in 1993 ($10,500) was asking $13,800 early 1990's was a bad market-couldn't sell anything-I bought the Deepwater blue 67 SD396 the next spring for $6900 !

in 1995 I dove a 1986 Corvette to Kanata to look at a 70 LS6 Chevelle for a friend-on my passenger seat was a 1986 magazine showing an LS6 Chevelle owned bye Reggie selling at $9000-so the vette would have been $40,000 then-9 years later the vette was $17,500 (with 26km) the LS6 Chevelle Pan bought was $25,000 U.S. ($34,000 CDN at the time) he sold it three years later at $41,000-it has since changed hands at $60,000 and $90,000-he was considering a new Z28 at the time in 1995 (same money as the LS6)

I totally agree on the values of the old cars versus new
I think Elroy and I were really refering to the comfort....  I'm not really keen, on spending my free time, in a no p.s. vinyl seat non air car... I am too old   I drove all that stuff in the seventies...    amd who drives his 90,000 LS6 anywhere  lol

you are correct the new stuff is way more comfort and can drive circles around most of the old stuff ie (86 corvette coupe/73 big block roadster )

but don't buy a new one for investment

you have to buy pants with deeper pockets or quit driving them Corvettes so your money doesn't fall out in the seats
