Surfaced from Down Under

It has been over 1 year since I have been on this site First I want to thank all those who helped me with information about my 65 Laurentian 4Dr.I spent 3 weeks in NZ Jan 09 removeing all rust mainly a new trunk and getting old girl ready for paint and have just got back from a 1800 mile tour with no problems,Car is not mint but sure is a suer tidy driver, here is a couple of photos.#3 photo is my uncle the original owner still driving at 90,he said the car looks like the day he got out of the show room Dec 24th 65,the other is of the barn were she is stored now and where she was for 20 years,Terry

Thanks Carl,I got myself tied up in antique farm tractors for the last year,I can beat them with a 4lb hammer and not worry about the dent!

One of my co-workers is big into the old tractors. It actually looks like a lot of fun.

Great job on the restoration and congratulations on the successful tour.

Besides belonging to the Puget Sound Chapter of POCI and the Canadian Pontiac Chapter of POCI, I am also a member Cascade Regional Group of the Early Ford V8 Clubs. We are located just south of Seattle,WA in Federal Way.

I bring this up because our President,Terry, is a native of New Zealand. Terry and Frances Nicholson are very involved members of our Group and lead our very active touring and social membership. Terry's only problem as President is he hasn't conquered the Nortwest/ Americanized English language. Terry is encouraging group members to accompany him on a return to New Zealand next year for the Early Ford V8 Convention. He has purchased a second Ford Pickup here and is restoring it for a family member with plans to deliver it on his return to New Zealand for the convention. That's the kind of guy he is. Great fun he is.

I was looking for a picture of his 1949 Ford F-100 truck but didn't have one. Sorry.

Your car looks great, in fact almost identical to our family car , a 65 4dr sedan Laurentian, when I was a boy.

65 was a great year and really produced some great models. Your uncle still looks sprightly and looks like he can go another round!

Lots of South Africans now living in NZ, beautiful country! Big trout!

Great job Terry. A buddy of mine drove black 65 4d when we were 16. It was great lots of room for girls and beer. If those old cars could talk we would still be grounded.
