This is one of the more famous 1973 GTO's. It is out of Arizona and is striking in black with black vinyl roof and blue stripe. It is a 455 car, originally auto but it now says 4 speed.

1973 GTO's were the least produced for starters and cars with the 455 numbered only 519 in this style. This car has been featured in numerouis magazine articles as stated above. The 455 was only available with a turbo 400 3 speed auto from the factory. The 455 was in fact a big car engine as used in the Bonnevilles so it was rather sedate. The 400 was a better choice for hot rodders and even still only 926 400 4 speed cars were produced. The remaining 2,867 were 400 auto. The real gem scheduled for production but cancelled unceremoniously was the SD 455.

Yes, he says it is converted to 4 speed. The interior photo with auto has been replaced now with the 4 speed.
