Grand Prix Wheels on the Olds minivan (pictures)

Back in Nov. I installed some winter tires on my girlfriends Oldsmobile minivan and noticed that the wheels were really in bad shape and there was quite a bit of corrosion and pitting where the bead seals.  They held air fine for about 2 months and then started giving trouble.  One in particular was  leaking steady.  The tire shop tried 3 times to seal it for her.  I had seen enough....disbelief   It was time to see what I could come up with for a reasonable price without spending much on wheels. Not to sure where to start looking, I went with searchused.ca and found some 2004 Grand Prix wheels with tires (15% remaining) and wheel nuts, that are the same size as the wheels and tires on the minivan.  Couldn't believe they were the same but I even drove the minivan 2hrs away to try them on the van before I bought them.  Looked good and no fitment issues.  On Monday I figured it was late enough in the year to take the winter tires off and try out the GP wheels on the minivan.  I like them and so does the girlfriend (most important).  Well now.....we live where there is always spring snow storms and I don't know why this year would differ but I gambled on it not happening and this morning was shoveling out the stuck van with bald tires.

These are the Olds wheels with the winter tires.

Here is a look at the back of the wheel and the plating coming off.

The Grand Prix wheels and tires for $400. biggrin

I like the way the van looks with the Pontiac Grand Prix wheels better than the original Olds wheel.

I have to say that we don't see too many Silhoettes here in Ontario, better chance seeing a Saturn Relay than the Olds.

A true hot rodder!!! They look great on there.

Now you have to do something with those rusty drums. How about some nice fluorescent green or maybe red or orange???!!!

Ouch, nice winter touch in the photos. Are you sure that's not photoshopped???

For a change, we had the nice weather. Our's shows a high of 24 here today. I was just working outside on the pad, scraping undercoat away from the gas tank area of my Acadian. At 9:30 it was still around 18 degrees.
