I thought I should make a "general apology" to some (or all) of the members of this site!
During the last few months (winter) I have been going, through some stressful times, that caused me, to whine, and complain,(more than normal) and bitch about my poor financial situation.. During these times, I have asked for someone,(in PMs and on posts) to purchase my 66 Pontiac...
One fine member, offered to help me out financially (allowing time, for that pesky house to sell) Another friend, sent me a couple of people, to inquire about it. I am sure that this past year had been a toughie for most of us. I offered the car and changed my mind several times and yet another fine gentleman let me off the hook... Recently several more nice fellows have expressed interest...
I have recently ahead the opportunity to discuss this emotional roller coaster of mine, with my good wife
After taking her for a drive in the old boat, She thinks, I should keep the car, in our possession...She enjoyed the drive and thought I was nuts for wanting to sell it'' We have decided to sell "Her" Ventura II and acquire a later model toy with A/C in it...
So; To those individuals, I have mis-lead and disappointed, I ask your forgiveness I am truly sorry Carl Hicks 427Carl
p.s. I had taken out money, reserved for the future, and when it was gone, we took out a mortgage on the 2nd house
We signed a conditional offer on the house, taking another hit on it, and hoping to have
I wanted to copy Rebelrousers statement.. and agree, that his car and mine, with enhanced BB motors are 2 of probaably 4-5 left in the world!!!
To have them on this site is really neat! I hope someone will snap his up and save it for the future... C2

That's funny I just happen to have a full size, very low option(none),bench 4spd with a BB GM motor, with '65-'82 Corvette brakes on all 4 corners, amongst other goodies.I'd be willing to let it go to the right car nut!!!Oh and it is very unique and the ONLY one around like it.
Carl, you don't owe anyone any apologies pally! For the "harrowing of hell" experience Barbara and yourself have been through, I think you've handled it all very gracefully and it was nice to see through all the grief, that you didn't lose that sense of humour of yours! We'd ALL be lost without you hear Buddy! BIGTIME! It's just so nice things are finally starting to turn around for you both. As you well know from my personal mailings to you, I've always thought you should keep the '66. But then again, I "HAVE" been accused of being "modest" in the past with some of my opinions. Gee, I wonder who it was said THAT? LOL!
Carl, I don't know anyone who could go through what you have and still have the sense of humour you do.
Your apology is accepted as I believe it is appropriate to do that. However, as was said, I really have never thought you were out of line in the least. Some men "wear their heart on their sleeve" and some never say a word about their personal life. I happen to be one of those sleeve guys too, so I can understand where you're coming from!

Well I for one was not offended at all by your belly aching because I'm always looking to the next line or two that will bring out your great sense of humour. It's a great gift you have, I wish more people had it. I'm just hoping that this site provided you a little help for your stress relief. And as mentioned if you weren't on here I wouldn't be on near as much because I honestly enjoy reading your comments no matter what they say. I can pass by quite a few but I'm always looking for yours. Hang in there buddy each day is going to get better.
I think we all can understand what Carl has been going through. There are days that I want to sell my Pontiac, then I don't, then I do etc, especially those months where the bills seem to keep piling in.
I have been blessed over and over, in the last 2 years, from so many wonderfull people here. We survived this past few weeks, on the prayers of the people (and good thoughts and well wishes) and this was on top, of the other financial problem.. Thankfully, we look forward to a great year!
I also want to thank those, who have remembered the site, and its need to flourish, and to those who have, and will contine, to help out with financial support, and lets remember to pray for Todds health and stressfull job. I am sure he appreciates having a job, lets hope for a smoother year for him , this year...
and Hey! Did you see the centre fold of the Cdn Chapter magazine? Wow 1 of 2 BB 4 speed cars in the World! None of those Babies in the U.S.
Hey Carl, Keep the faith! You are such helpful and thoughtful guy! As for having a sense of humour ... well maybe ... ha, ha. Almost every day, I have a "Carl quote" to show/tell my wife. You crack me up, and having a laugh, when appropriate, will get you through almost any problems that life throws at you! Take it easy, Darryl.

Carl, you do realize you're a cornerstone of this site don't you?
The cornerstone (or foundation stone) concept is derived from the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation, important since all other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure.
So! I am a big rock! thats what my wife calls me! along with idiot, wacko, hard head, know it all, spoiled, and so on THANKS
Hang in there Carl ..I think we can all understand a little of what you are going through, at one time or another we have all had to make hard choices and faith and reason always get us through it. Good or bad. Anyway keep your chin up..we all appreciate your wisdom and humour.
Do not know what to say Carl. But no apoligy was needed as far as I am concerned. We all have bad days, and financial issues are all to common these days. Trust me, I know. Sorry to hear you are hit a bad patch on the road, and hope it all turns out as it should for you.
Carl, if you recall this time last year I was cut off from the world by 3 1/2 miles of cold muddy flood water. My lifeline was the internet, specifically this place. It was pretty humbling to have to lean on a group of "strangers" but the support I had kept me afloat, so to speak!!!
I say be thankful for these guys and don't sweat it. You have been support for others when they needed it. It's just your turn now. It's a bit tough to accept (pride thing) but I've been there, done that!

You're a great guy Carl. I probably am not up on all the problems you've had, too busy probably obsessing on my own...but needless to say i really hope things are turning around, you desevrve it!
