Say Fred,  can you tell if this was a 427 car by the tag?

Not much chance of a Turbo 400 being behind a small block eh?

I'd expect if it was a 427 car the cowl tag would show the engine option.  Plenty of small blocks out there with turbo 400's.

I think M38 is TH350.

M40 is TH400. This would be a small block car.

Guess the only sure way is to get a build sheet eh? Does have a 12 bolt diff and a hint where the marker light was.

The cowl tag is certainly a small block car being that it has M38 though. Not to discourage you from getting the GM paperwork but if that's the original tag, there is no way it will come back as a big block car.

It seems to me that the big block cars had a 3/8's fuel line and the lesser engines had 5/16's.  Maybe thats a way to tell.

That is true Ken but in 69 a 350 would also have 3/8 line so unfortunately that is not a guaranteed way to tell on this car.

Yes you can see the shadow . Its had 427 emblems at one time but might have been added as a clone.
