Stuck in Europe

I feel bad for all those folks who can't fly out of Europe due to the volcano ash. No real end in site. It will be a huge blow for the airline industry. I hear it's costing them 200 million a day. Glad I cancelled my whirlwind European Tour! Ok, I didn't have a whirlwind European Tour planned....biggrin

Hi Ray, have you been to Sierra Leone? I was just planning a last minute spring holiday to Morocco and Mali, but i got cold feet on Mali (due to safety)... I was thinking of leaving in 2-3 weeks, just backpacking thru Mali, no tours for me...(not S-L), but I think I might 'stand out' a bit much?

I'd almost enjoy being stranded in Paris for an extra week or so! That is crazy how disruptive it is, I wonder how many days/weeks it will take to rearrange all the travel... unbelievable!

Man, I hope there's a volcano near Kenora when I go to the lake this summer.

Do you think they'd buy that if I called in from there and couldn't come back to work because of that?

Hi Jean, I told my friend that he could go to Mali without me and that I'd spend the rest of my trip in Barcelona, maybe catch the F1 race! and Morocco of course. Oh well, looks like the trip will wait until Fall...I prefer to leave only when our weather is cold!!

p.s. Carl, they did have the gravel road "washout" in Nopiming a year or two ago that stranded a few people at the cottage! You might have the same thing happen! biggrin

I have not gone to Sierra Leone for the reasons you suggest. The country is getting better but roads are impassible if they exist, elecricity supplied sometimes during the day. mobs of young men milling around with nothing to do, telephone, service, none. Even on thi strip air service was so bad our people got a Land Cruiser and drove 600 miles north, took 12 hours.

The buyer of my 59 Dodge is in the U.S right now and hopes to fly out to Frankfurt on the 20th. I hope he can get home to Austria. It's the only way he can wire me the rest of the money he owes me!

I wont say "SOLD" until the money is all in the bank and the car is on a flatbed driving away!

The deposit came without a problem though!
