I think a floor jack and a trolley jack are the same thing.

Just make sure you put something under the jacks if you are lifting your car on the driveway. Many a car has fallen on it's owner due to the jacks sinking into the asphalt. I always keep my hydraulic jack under the car as well as using stands for extra insurance.

I think a "trolley" jack is just a small version of a floor jack!!!  Myself, I'd go with the floor jack, bigger wheels, longer body, & spreads the weight out better. Yes use your axle stands but if your using them in d/way, I would put a 1x10 pc. of plank under them as well. They will sink into pavement as will the jack & car will come down on "you" BE SAFE don't want to read here about an accident or death

I am thinking of going with the 3 ton set at Canadian Tire for 124.99
Has good reviews on their website and should do the job.

Do you have an air compressor? If so, Canadian Tire sells a sweet air powered bottle jack. It works great. I use mine all the time.

Look at the length of the body. A proper floor jack is longer then a trolley.
