i have decided to send the frame to my metal shop and the body on top of a home made rolling stand im wondering if i could use 4x4 wood to make a box frame that would support if yall don't know what im talking about i can scan in my drawings and measurments or should i rent a arch and get my dad to weld together  a metal frame

Jonathan, I preume your talking about lifting the body off frame?? You'll likely have the front clip off [fenders,hood, rad cradle etc. ] You should be able to slide some 4x4's under body to jack it up from frame,once frame rolled out you can lower it onto your 4x4 box to roll body around, make sure doors are left on or brace body there if you remove them!!!! Hope you have all the equipment & tools to this, as the body bolts will a "pain" likely rusted in there!!!!

Yea those darn body bolts, some times the metel cage that holds the nut from turning breaks on the body bolts. I had to drill a few holes above the body bolts with a hole saw to get at the nuts. Leaving a hole I now have to patch. I should have made a three sided cut and pealed back the metal to expose the nut then I could have just hammered it back down and welded. Easer to fix than a round hole. Just hope that all your body bolts come out with no trouble.

i got a a ton of liquid wrench and  air tools to get those body bolts off

could i get a whole bunch of freinds to lift the body onto the wood framing
if i remove everything  and just weld supports into the body?

Jonathon,

If you have enough people to help you lift the car that would be the easiest. Keep in mind the more stuff left on the car the heavier it is. With my car, I put a board under the floor, and lifted it up a bit until I had clearance to slide some 2x12 aluminum planks a buddy lent me between the body and frame. Then I lifted the body up by the planks bit by bit and blocked and jackstand accordingly. Now I had no motor or trans so I didn't have any of that to interfere. Hope this helps!!!! Also even with air tools and soaking the body bolts, I still had to cut mine off. Good Luck!!!
