Anyone into Razors??

Polaris Ranger RZR (razor).  Also called a side-by-side in the ATV world. The RZR's are clasified as a UTV (utility terain vehicle), but more performance oriented than utility. 800cc (760cc actual) EFI twin cylinder, belt driven (same as a sled) CVT tranny, P,R,N,L,H shift pattern.Shaft driven front and rear axles, shift on the fly AWD/2WD. 52hp, 100+kph.

Cool feature is when the AWD rocker switch is activated, it still drives in 2WD until the machine senses rear wheel spin, then becomes AWD. So when you get into the sloppy stuff, all you need to do is hold it on the boards and hang on.

I purchased this new '09 last year, green.

I can never call a vehicle my own until I tear it apart.

Everything beyond this point, other then the body plastics, is aftermarket. I changed the colour to gloss black.

Bolt on engine mods consist of 3" cold air intake, full stainless duel exhaust with a X-pipe and a adjustable fuel controller.

This is the front of the machine, long travel A-arms/axles, Elka 3-way adjustable shocks with remote reservoirs, Warn 3.0 winch. On the front drive, I changed out the plastic sprage for a billet aluminum one, under normal 4x4 conditions the plastic one would grenade.........go figure.

Mastercraft (not crappy tire) suspension seats with their 3" wide 5-point harness. Quick release fire extinguisher and extra fuel can in the box.

Custom low profile roll cage with aluminum skin roof, stronger over OEM cage.

036.JPG

ITP 14" wheels and their Terra Cross radial tire, I cut out the front of the hood and added stainless grilles for more air flow to the rad, HID headlights, 60 LED light bar across the top of the cage. I can not describe the amount of light this machine can through out..........maybe the oncoming traffic could give a brief description.biggrin I broke up some aluminum for skid plates/CV protectors for the lower A-arms on all four corners.

Installed aluminum skinned doors that open and aluminum body hardware kit.

All ready for the trails. headbang.gif

Out on the trails last fall.

Miles and miles of these abandoned rail lines here in central Ontario. Straight and fast.

P1010617.JPG

A look at some islands off the west side of Georgian Bay. With hills like these, I think I can over look the turbo upgrade on my machine.

P1010649.JPG

Off in the distance is the Chi-Cheemaun ferry heading south into Owen Sound for the winter months. It's in service between Tobermory (top end of Bruce peninsula) and Manitoulin Island.

There you have it. Absolutely nothing to do with a Pontiac...............but I know how much we like pics............just something from the other side of the fence.

Thanks for looking.

What a wicked machine, wow! Thanks for the pictures.

Last year I got to do some Four wheeling in Gaspe' Quebec backcountry. Never done it before and I positively taken by it. I had no Idea what the 4x4's were capable of, we went up washed out creekbeds that there is no way you'd even be able to walk up.

Hope to do more, maybe this summer. Wish I lived on some land and had access to trails, at a minimum I'd have a big 4x4.
