Thanks C2.

It was a very nice night weatherwise. Most of the cars there were the same old cars we know over  the past 3 or 4 years. That Coronet R/T was a new one but we know the owner, he traded a Roadrunner in to get it.

The Milner deuce coupe was new as well, very cool. I had never seen the two Firebirds before or the Eldorado.

We met a very nice couple, she was goo goo over my car, go figure confuse and there was a young guy about 16 asking me a ton of questions, turns out his dad just bought a 75 Sport Coupe for $1,300. Meeting Cam was great too and we had a good time.

I guess that's what it's all about, but generally it was a bore, same old music, same old cars, same old interior polish door prizes. bored.gif

What he said!!  I had more fun driving my car there then the show. Even in it's bad state of tune...

Very nice!
I don't plan on going to many car shows this year. If/when  i do get the Trans Am out this year i just want to drive it. I am going to the Fleetwood Cruise outside of London, but that's for work, so i get paid to be there!

It seems to be a common problem these days. We are no different here in Winnipeg. They call it Sunday Night Cruise Night but it's more like Park night, no one cruises like it used to be, you can't too much traffic. It's always the same guys with their lawn chairs, the new stuff is usually out driving on other nights because that's where the fun is. It used to be that you could cruise from VJ's on Main all the way to the other end of Portage to the K-Mart at Cavalier and see all the cars cruising, but too many idiots in Mom's mini van and other pieces of crap screwed that up royally. Way too many spectators driving up and down the strip and a very heavy police presence make it no fun for the guy's with nice stuff, it's left to the attention seekers of the wrong kind.
We try to make it out a couple of times a summer just because there are so many good friends to see that we don't get to other than Sunday night, but it's not as much fun as it used to be. we just jump in the car and go for a ride, find a new place for ice cream and see what we can see. Use the cars the way they were meant to be used.
Ah for the good old days, I'm starting to sound old,  I better get a car out and on the road so I can feel 20 again.wink

Ya Cruise Night is an oxy mornon that's for sure , I like the Park Night tem better. I got home around 10 and just thought to my self, what a waste of time, I have a wife and three kids I could be with and I just wasted 3 hours. Last night was a real shocker to me because a few people actually looked at my car and liked it confuse but that momenatry rush lapsed back into boredom pretty quickly.  bored.gif

Ya the ride there and the ride home are usually the best part. Throw the family in the car, drive thru the "cruise night" don't stop unless you see some one worth talking too, and go for a nice ride, ice-cream opptional.

Since the weather was nice I figured there would be a good turnout. I also figured I might meet a few fellow Canadian Poncho-ers and I wasnt disappointed. I finally met Ray with his unusual 73 (I like it!) plus Daryl ("Im Daryl and this is my other brother Daryl"; man it never gets old). It was nice to hear Rays Lemans GT with those new Cherry Bombs in stereo through those great looking new exhaust tips. The story behind Daryls 70 Mustang Sportsroof was unusual in itself (his mom bought it new). In my view I think that the 69/70 Mustang fastbacks & the Lamborghini P400 Muira were really the only cars that carry rear window louvers well.

I hear you on the cruise (sic) scene. It is nice to see the iron but after a while it is the same old same old. Gavin with that really nice 68 Coronet R/T was a trial member of our local club, the Eastenders. He got bored with it and opted out of the club because he actually wanted to cruise and run his car (at the time he had a blown 69 Road Runner that he had invested a fortune into). The club still gets together over a few cold ones on Thursdays, but there has been a splintering and a waning of interest. The apathy seems to be common all over. Still, when you get car guys together they can shoot the breeze until the sun goes down (I hope your ear doesnt hurt from my babbling, Ray)

I need to get my Chevelle project completed before the entire cruise season passes by. It is good to see driveable project cars come out and to see their progress. Once mine is driveable Im laying off until sufficient funds for bodywork and paint (always more than meets the eye if you are picky).

If Cam hadn't found me at I probably would have died!! This was a highlight of the night meeting in person people we know on-line. As C2 often says they're even nicer in person ! I think Cam may be as knowledgeable as Hillar which is a huge compliment Cam!  So chatting away was no problem I only wish you found me before 8:30!

I hate to sound so down on the cruise-in, sorry about that.

While my car is far from perfect, very far indeed, it is reliable and driveable almost anywhere so Cam get that 292 in your Chevelle and lets go cruising.....for real.

Monday at Thornhill will be different, one of the best Park-Ins going, good food, good live music, great prizes and 200 to 300 cars for sure. It also seems to attract a certain level of female spectators that other Park-Ins don't. If I go I will have good photos to share. biggrin

The "cruise" seems to be a rare event. I've been to a few show 'n' shines that were good if you can park next to someone you want to talk to and not one of the guys with a mid-80's Cavalier and a $5000 stereo.

I do get tired of chasing kids (ice cream in hand) off the front bumper, old farts banging on the fender with their aluminum cane, guys leaning over the fender with big belt buckles and people who think it's alright to climb in and sit down in the driver's seat. Each of these has happened more than once.

You definitely have to go with someone else or you can't even go for a walk to see the other cars.

Great photos by the way - thanks for sharing!

Love that 59 Cadi flatti Ray . My 1st Cad was a 59 6 window hardtop S'D'Ville in black with black & white interior. Nowhere near as nice as the one in the pic's.
I have done the roll through's for a lot of the cruise-ins also. More so when I was younger and into the muscle stuff and some Vette's. Now I only go a few times a year to check out some fresh iron. I much rather go for a ride to the lake or back road crop tours.

I'm bored of the cruise night scene. I'll likely do a couple this year though just to see if there are any new cars this year. Tillsonburg is a favorite of mine (the A&W one). Anymore I prefer to take my wife and son out for ice cream in the Pontiac or to take a quite drive by myself.

We have a great bunch of guys in Goderich Ont. called Circle City Cruisers

The members have cool jackets and shirtsbiggrin
The leader is a hard working guy, but the cruise is the same as all over..

The members all sit in little groups with very little interest in actual cars... I have taken both cars numerous times, and have never been greeted or welcomed!!  No one from the members ever has looked at my car..  I saw them at Stratford and they were all clustered around a tent and no smiles no interest   I  won a door prize and was embarrased by the looks lol   They are there only for the 50/50   The crusier of the week is a draw  and it seems only members win   same ol same ol   may be we need a annual together with Todd
