I gotta say I'm all for a party, I remember being a kid and having a few beers. I coach 2 under 10 soccer teams, and tonight I don't know if I'll do it anymore, or let my kids play again! For the last 2 games I have cleaned out broken bottles off the field. Tonight I took 3 handfulls of glass off. So thinking I've cleared the pitch, I commence practice, starting to teach the kids how to slide kick a goal, Ambulance ride 2 hours in emerg, a major gash, plenty of stitches to close a gaping wound to my lower leg, time off work= Not F%^$%$G worth it! What kind of moron buries glass under the field by a goal where kids play? Sorry for the rant, But I'm seriously pissed off! Thank's guy's and gal's. Hope nobody is to upset, but man am I mad right now.

Ditto JD. How does that quote go, "all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing" so I hope you will continue to be a leader and a positive force for the kids. But maybe set up a secret night-vision security camera on the field, eh? Or a blind and use a night-vision scope on a varmint rifle and set up a vigil on Friday and Saturday nights?

i'd be notifying the local cops about the situation, if you haven't already.
sickening.
Already done. Just makes me crazy thinking what if it was a little kid instead of me. Pretty bad though, Doc said I was really lucky that I didn't hit a vessel, artery or any nerves or tendons. Couldn't believe how lucky I was. Have some movies, subway, and I'm gonna self medicate all day

Idiots are everywhere, arn't they, no respect for anyone or anything....from glass on the playing fields too needles in the playgrounds,...I wish they'd stay home and screw up there own yards, Hope your doing better SOON!!
Around here and this time of year it seems this kind of BS is usually high school kids and grad parties. Always seems to be worst in May and June. However, I know a few recreational baseball teams who show up with a few coolers for each game and don't clean up after themselves.
I coached mob ball when my kids were that age and I know exactly what you mean. I used to arrive at least a half hour early to walk the field looking for leftovers - everything from used condoms, broken glass, dog crap - fortunately never found any used needles. Also fortunately, I never got cut and neither did any of the kids but it was more luck than anything.
There are a lot of people out there with zero respect for anyone. I lump these people in with the idiots who toss garbage out the car window, empty their ashtray while sitting at the lights, break bottles at the campsites, throw bottles at signs and mailboxes from moving cars etc etc. Take it home or find a proper trash container. How tough is that.
most be cities are switching from sand to a solid rubber mat in playgrounds because of these idiots. a few years back edmonton had a rash of problems with nails and razor blades under play equipment so long to soft sand. individuals need their jokes rubbed into thier postiriors as punishment when they do catch them, not just a slap on the rist
I don't mind the kids drinking at the parks or schools as long as they leave the bottles intact. Each Monday morning makes you wonder if you have to clean up the kids school To hurt little kids.......those people need to be locked up.....they have a sick mind
Took my grandchildren to the local skate board park and there was broken beer bottle glass every where and one of the wood jump ramps was burned. I just do not understand why.
Talk about "NO BRAINS NO HEADACHES MAN"!!! A couple of years ago some LOSER(S) put glass right at the bottom of a kid's slide in a park here in St. Ratford. Just to PROVE idiocy is STILL alive well and living in the thriving metropolis hereof; some DORK up and kills and innocent mother swan by her nest! Now WHAT in the heck would you get out of doing THAT?! Gimme a break! And the sad part is, they report what the maximum penalties are for this and that they're even of a "federal" nature; yet you watch and see; a slap on the wrist, house arrest.....PFFT! I say it's NOT too late to tie these people to the exhaust of a car? Perhaps hold them under until the bubbles quit? Or tie them to the bumper and take them for a heck of a good ride! Should have been needled at birth man! Of course I'm JUST JOKING FELLAS! Thought I'd say that before someone might turn around and accuse ME of being the SAME! LOL!

I couldn't have written that list any more complete. You summed that up perfectly...
Our kids have been taught from day one about the only thing to go out the window is a banana peel or an apple core.
