Yet if that was the 649 with a prize of 50 mill and you had 5 out of the six numbers, you probably would have been in the 6 figures. That still would have bought you that car collection, just not as many cars though.
My heart was starting to race until I checked out the price payout. I guess that's how they afford to do $50 million jackpots-make the other prizes small.
I wrote the OLG and told them that loto max was a rip off and to bring back super 7. loto max never gets won till it goes up to 50 million and non of the bonus millions get won either. So the jackpot stays at 50 million and the bonus millions goes from 5 to 20 sets of numbers. Wow that brings down your odds down to 1 in 15 million instead of 1 in 17 million ! I told them that it was a get rich quick scheme from the lottery commission. With all the money that goes into it where does it go when it wasn't won? Someone is making a hell of a lot of money from this and I can tell you it isn't us poor tax payers !!!!! Like my mom used to say, the rich get richer and the poor play bingo !!!

Just my 2 cents
You are correct Sir. I hardly EVER play the lotto, ever. Because it is a scheme just to get more money by making the odds harder.
Kudos to Todd though, getting 5/7 is still good, expect for the crappy pay out.
I use to play Pro Line. The sports betting with them, and their odds and rules are so rediculous compared to Casinos and Bookies it wasn't even funny. By that I mean, the parlay point spread payouts and the must pick atleast 3 team bs.
my wife and i were on our way to see her parents and she says stop at the store i want to check the tickets next thing i know she running outside the store jumps in the car and says drive thought she robbed the place then she tells me she thinks we won a 100,000.00 dollars well talk about a shock it an unreal feeling we had to wait about 6 month to get it since she works for the olg i will tell you they really check you out if you work for the olg and win but now she isnt allowed to even buy tickets. allways play encore
I met a guy the other day (appraising) he won a dinner at the Madarin, then 25 dinners, then I think 9 dinners around the world, then a couple g's at the casino, then the cash for life (took the $675,000)---I like the dinner wins and the $675,000 would sure help !
I have a friend won $14,000,000 on the 649 two summers ago-still wears bib overalls and works on cars !
another guy down here I knew won $2,000,000 about 15 years ago-that was about a month or so after settling his divorce !
If I win you can be assured Canadian Poncho would be a MEGA SITE with a brick and mortar location with LOTS of Canadian Poncho's and parts cars with those parts going dirt cheap.

I was kinda scared you would abandon the site for lack of time

Funny that you say that. There was a gal that I was going out with about 20 years ago when I lived in Vancouver. She suggested that we buy a lottery ticket together, to which I agreed. She then told me about all of these grandious things that she would do/acquire if she won. She asked me what I would do. I told her that I would buy a new set of sheep skin seat covers for the Beaumont. She thought I was messed up. That was probably the begining of the end for us.
It's amazing that a guy can get 5 out of 7 and only win $20.00! Amazing probably isn't the word. How about horse s#@&!

I read a few days ago about a store in Newfoundland that made a mistake and sold a customer $27 worth of quick picks. The customer only wanted $10 worth. The original ticket was voided and the customer got a $10 quick pick. Apparently a lottery rep comes in once a month to check the voided tickets to ensure everything is on the up and up. One of the quick picks on that voided ticket would have been a 30 million winner. Wouldn't that make you sick!
The lottery pool I was in, where I used to work, won 28 million. I moved from Ontario to PEI, so another guy took my place in the pool. I got a phone call after just being on PEI for 6 months from the guy saying thanks. He was 1.2 million richer!

I had 5 out of 6 numbers in 649 a few years ago ! I thought it was going to be a big pay out , not ! There were so many winners on that draw it paid me $940.00 I have never gotten 5 out of 6 again and probably never will. How about getting one of those rich oil bas@@@ds to lend me 1 million for 1 year let me collect the interest and then give them back the million ? I hardly dought that thet would miss it !!!!!
as I said before The rich get richer and the poor play BINGO !!!!!!
I agree 100%... When the pot goes over 10 mil, then is should be that amount of draws. What the heck will one person do with 50 mil??? Other than going into hiding and hiring a secret swat team to protect you and your family??? Dunno!!!

Not surprising in the least. It was just the other night on the news that the OLG was audited and the money that was wasted and the bonuses paid out were gi-normous man! It's no wonder they have to come up with such a scheme (Lotto Max) in order to keep up their greedy standards of living. Even though the Princess Margaret Lottery funds a good cause and they boast that your chances of winning are one in three, doesn't mean that if you buy three tickets you're going to be an instant winner of at least something. My Dad won $5 grand on a scratch ticket just before last Christmas and we all just about fell off our chairs! But it's true, you can't win if you don't have a ticket. A person just has to be sensible in how many tickets they buy and how often they buy them. Imagine if you buy tickets every week all your life? I wonder how much money you'd have in a bank account if you deposited it there instead of buying tickets? I think it would be surprising.
I had an aunt who got 5 numbers plus the extra on a 649. Picked up over $100k. The surprising thing though: She won it just before she went to Utah for a month in the winter. Sitting around a campfire talking to fellow Canucks, she mentions the win. Turns out the other couple won the same amount on the same draw! And to make it even weirder, they had the exact same numbers!!
I buy a ticket to dream a few times a year. I think I won a free ticket a couple times. Haven't tried the Super 7 or LottoMax - haven't even figured out how they work. When did the 649 go to 2 bucks??
The biggest prize experience I ever had was going to Toronto to pick up a cheque for $1,500.00 for a friend of mine who wasn't physically capable of doing it for himself. Even though it wasn't my prize, I at least got to feel like a winner for helping him out. He offered me $100.00 for my doing it for him, but I declined as he could use the entire amount more than I could. I probably on average buy 10 tickets a year. Fifty million bucks is scary I think. All kinds of neat "units" come out of the woodwork once they now you've won substantially. I'd split it between all members of my family equally and then, FINALLY build myself one heck of a big shop! And of course, then fill it with cars! Perhaps the next subject on "The Lounge" should be: "What would you do IF you won $50 MILLION DOLLARS?" It would be interesting to see what people would do with that much coin.
I'd disappear for a few months, spend a few hundred grand to get it out of my system and then wisely invest and live of the interest on lots of land near the water with a state of the art shop and a quality but not overly huge eco frendly home. I'd like to have a winter home somewhere on the ocean. I'd keep the Laurentian and treat it to a top notch resto My wife says we'd have a bunch of animals. My hobby would be buying and selling collector cars.
I'll tell ya what Todd. If """I""" ever win a substantial amount of money? You and I will do JUST THAT! I always wanted to own my own scrapyard when I was a kid. Now the old rack is just a little too creaky to be out in all kinds of inclement weather, I've decided I too would build myself one big shop and a half complete with storage for "x" amount of cars and keep some for myself and buy and sell others. Aww yes, think of the freedom! LOL!
