While some of you were at The Fleetwood Cruise or Barrie Flea Market 65Camino and I jumped in the LeMans and participated in my Rotary Club's Car Rally. I had the only vintage car. It was set up like an Amazing Race with envelopes and clues to each destination and activbity ending up at a member's farm near Mount Forrest for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun, the only draw back was it took 12 hours from start to return home. Darryl and I won a prize for Most Enthusiastic.
Here are some photos of our day....We met for breakfast near the Airport in Toronto.
Marshalls getting us in departure order, yes that's a Cadillac
We immediately get lost, directions in kilometres, we have miles
Man did we get off track
We sort ourselves out and complete task one, Photo with Northern Dancer
Yup, we were at Woodbine Race Track.
Next stop, now were talking
Gets even better, Holly served us a sample, just a short one
Small Micro Brewery, good suds
Next Stop the Golf and Country club, we have to get a scorecard here...
Bonus points for getting a John Deer logo photo...
Did you see that, a 65 Impala for sale
I don't think we are in Toronto anymore
Stop at Downey's farm to pick up dessert
Imagine that they have farm equipment for sale too
Courtney helps us find our Mini tarts, our task for this stop.
Might as well get a shot of the three of us
At least we are not the only ones who have no idea where we are
Bonus points for team shot with the Big Smoke in the background
Next Stop...
Had to locate marker with REID family name
Chapel and LeMans, I was inside praying we'd have enough gas to make it
Next task, random act of kindness, where else to do that?
We wait for a pretty blonde and buy her a coffee, Shelly was her name. This was in Orangeville ON.
Stopped in at Midas to let the boys hear the CHERRY BOMBS
Team member with flag...bonus points
This is where the flag was being flown
More bonus points, team member with Cow
Our destination for our Food Basket
Local Roatarians accept our Donation of food basket....
AND SELLL ME A RAFFLE TICKET
Downtown Shelburne, looking for a police car, our next photo task
Found a P71, a little rough around the edges
Lookie here a big emergency van too for those rowdy nights in Shelburne ON
Massive bonus points for photo of police car with officier and team member
Times two, oh ya we are going to win
"How's it feel Eh!" We turn the tables on Shelburne Police
Last task before farm, Angnes Macphail monument, first woman elelcted to Parliament - Grey County ON.
Can you believe what we see when we get to the farm....Yuk
On the way home we drive through Dundalk ON
They have these Pontiacs tucked away
And out in the open too
Can't pass up a photo op with another 73
Don't think we've seen this dealer decal before
This is about as much fun as you can have with an old car. Sure beats driving to the mall and parking. It would be a good thing for Canadian Poncho to do too.

Great diary of the day. Looks like it was a ton of fun. I thought your picture of Northern Dancer might come out of that Exotica building as you mentioned you were a little lost. Thanks for sharing.
There were three prizes given out, Most hopeless which was a foregone conclusion and went to another member of the club.
Then there was Most Organized that went to a member, his wife two children and their dog! They drove their Range Rover! Seems they completed every task, every bonus and every photo required. We won't mention that they are good friends with the owner of the farm and have been there dozen's of times!
We were awarded Most Enthusiastic, we did everything too except get a photo of sheep with a team member. We could have but we wrongly assumed we had it in the bag so we blew by the sheep on Grey Road 9 doing 75 MPH just before the farm.
Chris were were practically at your place I figure.
The important thing was it was a lot of fun plus we helped out the Food cupboard in Shelburne.
Great thread Ray! Makes me thankfull we live where we do. 1/2 hour and we're out in gods country. You make the GT look like an intermediate in this great shot!

Great pictorial. Rally's are a lot of fun. Done a few myself. There's nothing better than spending a day with good friends, meeting new people, and getting to drive your favorite car.
