Need dipstick pictures and measurements for a 1950 six 239


Yup call me stupid, I took the oilpan dipstick out to paint it, the intent was to put it away so I would not lose it, guess what, I cant find it...I quess that comes with age
anyway can somebody measure tier an post it

I have a 53 239 but it should be the same. It's 11 3/4 inches to the stop,
1 1/4 to the add line and 2 1/2 to the full line

I don't want to spoil the party but I think the dipstick on a 50 and 53 is not the same, in 50 I think there is no tube to set higher the dipstick from the block, on a 53 yes, so if I'm right the dipstick should not be the same.

Not that much a problem if a spare is free to you, you can cut it to the right lenght.

Ok, if i measured the length of the tube that would be the amount to cut off correct?

Yes Bob, you should be OK, the pan between those year's engine is I think the same.

And yes I don't know something, is when the bodyman will work back on the body !!!!

No it's not really trouble, he work outside on call for shop maintenance, so sometime the "outside job" is longer than expected...
