It's been 6 years since the 455 has been on the road. I powered up the windows with a battery charger and now the windows don't work the fuse is ok, but no power coming from the fuse box. Plus the tach is dead too.
Not sure about the tach but the windows should be an easy trace.
There should be a relay, correct?
3 wires to it? Likely one small pink one and two larger, maybe red?
One red live all the time.
Pink should be live with the key on.
As soon as the pink goes live, the other big one (red?) should go live too?
There was a 68 GTO rag at a show in Oregon with the same problem. Someone told them there is a relay behind the kick panel. If this is true than Beaumonts should have the same relay as well? I'll check for the pink wire.

After waiting for a new relay.....found out that was not the problem Found a wire wasn't hooked up by the firewall still no power After taking out two wires that went nowhere....tried this pink wire to the fuse box and now have working windows Also got my tach working as well

It's nice when the solution is found like that. I remember on my first truck when I was 17 the electrical situation wasn't great and the horn and the brake lights didn't work. I found a couple wires under the cab that went nowhere so I hooked them together. I then got my mom to come out and step on the brakes to see if the brake lights worked. When she stepped on the brakes the horn sounded so I had it fixed in no time and was a happy young electrical genius. Sometimes things can be so simple.

There's a certain satisfaction in winning an electrical battle, isn't there?
Glad you got it!

Yeah it's nice having working windows. I was driving down the road with my door open. Wow is that black int is hot. I have a wire that's in the engine bay that has power to it on the drivers side that goes half way to the battery. Not long enough to be used for a hood lamp.

Mybe your right on the lamp stuff. It comes from inside the car. More than likely the fuse panel. When I got the car it was a drag car ...wiring and battery in the trunk and added gauges. Now finding all the right wires and some that are hacked is a little hard.
It comes out with that orange wire painted black....Orange is windows to the relay with all those wires at the top of picture. Thanks Carl for helping me...two heads are better then one
