Mouse ****!!!

This is a cross between a rant and looking for advice. I just pulled my 70 1/2 Camaro out of storage and guess what had been using it for their bathroom. Fricken mice of course. So the question to you all is what have you found to remove the mouse piss smell out of your cars???

Some remedies, but I've never had to try them.

Ozone machines work as long as you remove the source (eg: mouse droppings). Ensure the interior is dry. Water mixed with ozone produces hydrogen peroxide which will cause bleaching. Tiny will remember how bad my 54 Chevy smelled after being in a barn for so long. The mouse pee was unreal. I had to toss the carpet. The smell was still strong. It took two or three ozone treatments to get it out. After the final treatment it smelled just like it does outside after a thunderstorm.

I tossed my carpet also when that happened. Scrubbed the floors with Javex and time took care of the rest.

I know what you mean, John! No mice home in NL! But I tell you what, you don't want to know as it is a terrible smell and the damage they do is unreal.... That being said, you still should make the trip here and spend the day romping around.... And if you want, I will give you a first hand in your face  chance to smell what mice are all about!!! (lol)

Well, I think I will give it a good try to clean it before I sell it cheap. LOL I am waiting on A product through work. The salesman hasn't brought it by yet. I didn't even ask the name of it. It was uased to decontaminate rooms when the Sars outbreak was happening. Supposed to kill any bacteria that causes the smell. I'll keep you posted.

Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode when the valet parked Jerry's car!.

A pal of mine had the same problem w/ a Chevy pickup left parked for a few years..
After a few professional cleanings plus stripping the interior and hand washing every area accessible didn't work he had to smoke the smell out!.
A small fire of two logs burning in a steel bucket was left inside w/ the windows up and carefully watched w/ fire extingusher in hand..
It smells like a campfire now but he's happy!.

Good luck whatever method you try!.
