Earthquake in Ontario

Did you feel it, 5.5 on richter scale, Moderrate, rolled through Toronto about 1:50 pm. No damage at our office or home but minor damages are being reported.

We have first hand accounts from Ancaster to Ottawa to Boston via e-mials.

Just in epi centre is 55 miles N/E of Hull.

We got that from a US web site so not confirmed yet as you say, also head epi centre was West of Montreal so Hull sounds a bout about right. Ottawa reporting swaying buildings so it all adds up.

Sure adds excitment to a dull day! biggrin

I was listening to CKOC and Rockin' Ray Michaels said that in his studio, his microphone started bobbing up and down for a few seconds and he thought "What the heck?" Yeah, sure Rockin' Ray!
More like "What the ####?" LOL! He said two minutes later they'd received word that a 5.5 tremour had been recorded from Ottawa right down through the Niagara Peninsula. That's one long stretch of zone for this type of thing. Sure, we've had tremours before, even in good ol' St. Ratford, but that's a good sized one over a very large area. Should we start being like Callyforrrnia (as governor Arnie would say) and wondering when the BIG ONE is gonna hit? Kinda
makes ya wonder. Won't be long and all the doomsayers will come crawling outta the woodwork saying "THE END IS NEAR!" HAHAHAHA!! Couldn't resist it.

We just heard from some colleagues in Gatineau. They were evacuated from their offices as the windows were shattered during the quake.

I could feel a slight rumble here in Ingersoll. The kitty's knew it before I did as they ran in from the gazebo which they won't do if it's a heavy truck or thunder. Animals still have instincts we have seem to lost.

We're close to the limestone mine in Beachville so our house is shaking all the time from the blasting. Needless to say I didn't feel anything unusual....

ok. who fired up the BBC 572 inch with open headers? Did you not read the warning label or did GM leave it off as a cost cutting measure.
