Nice car. Thanks for sharing the pic's. My dads 67 beaumont is Capri Cream. It's a nice colour and easy to maintain. If a spec of dust lands on my car you can see it.

We will most certainly need to keep in touch! I have a 67 Nova SS that was originally Capri Cream and I plan to restore it as an SD Canso, in the original colour.

I will be itching to see your's in the original colour.

Very nice car, should look exceptional in original colour. I see interior was originally black so that will be a very nice combo.

One thing though, I don't think it has a six cyliner anymore   no.gif

the car now has an early 350 in it, fun to drive! my friend has a 250 out of a 1968 car that he gave me and it is in my garage to put back to original. I would like to find the correct year engine though. that with the exhaust is the onlt parts that have been changed.

Agreed 100% - black on black with a 350 and PG, oh yeah!

The 67 styling changes to the Nova/Acadian were among the best ever IMHO. Such clean lines, possibly even better than the 66/67 Chevelle/Beaumont.

I kinda feel the same way! now that you folks are talking about it maybe I will leave it black, hard to keep clean! but when it is man it sure looks good. ya the 350 engine combined with the powerglide tranny sure is a tuff combo to beat. It sure puts you back in your seat at any speedbiggrin anyway thanks for all the fine compliments, sure makes a guy feel good. one other question or comment I should say... can you believe the appraisal guy only put a replace value of $15,000 on itno am out of touch with prices here??? I always thought a car like this was in the twenty range? lets hear your thoughts. I am taking it to another appraiser next week. NOT FOR SELLING, just insurancehmm

The last appraisal I have seen personally in my hands was done in September 2009, it was for a mint Canadian Poncho B Body, special model with a very large displacement engine, loaded with options, two owner car from BC -$10,000.

I think there is a general feeling out there cars are "worth" a lot more than they are, promulgated by these big auctions we see on TV. I personally think your $15,000 is probably generous. Insurance appraisals and selling appraisals are two different things. Ideally your insurance should cover your costs and in the event of a loss what it would take to replace the car. Of course many people will assume some risk and insure the car for a value they can live with, after all it is only metal and rubber.

Try selling the car for $20,000 and let us know what happens. The real value is what someone is willing to pay in a free market.

i think the people that appraise don't and probally will never own a classic car for most of them its just a job, i got mine appraise for 50 bucks the guy said it was worth 200 bucks lol (its not worth that much)

well put guyssmile I was thinking about the same. like anything in this world the real value is what someone is going to pay. when I was in the antiques world of selling I would watch a piece of glass sell for $100 and 2 weeks latter the same glass sell for $150, then $75! LOLbiggrin markets go up and down and all though we do see big dollars being asked for most muscle cars they tend to either stay for sale for a long time or the seller gets talking with someone he or she likes and ends up selling it for alot less. all in all I wouldnt sell my car for 30k but thats how I feel today.. ask me again tomorrow..LOLyawn

Your car is beautiful in black, but seriously, I would re-do it in the original colour. The reason being, the colour is rare and you won't see your twin at too many car shows. I am actually excited about doing mine in Capri Cream for that reason. It's white now and I can't wait to remove it!

good point carl! I feel the same. I am going to stick with the original game plan and enjoy it for now and next year put the color back to original. the car deserves it and you are right the color is rare, also it was the first year it was offered  I believe?

Beaumontguru had a 67 Beaumont that was Capri Cream I believe. Hopefully he will see this and post a picture of it.

I used to hate colours that were beige, cream, gold etc. Now I love them!

Love it  If it was my car,   I would find some small centres for the rally wheels  (so they would not "stick" out)  other than that  its perfect

LOLsmile you guys are too funny, no it doesnt need paint. I think you are hinting at "wait till the paint gets old "then paint it back to capri cream. I am painting it back original at some point lets saybiggrin the car was just painted 2 years ago. I am also going to put the original 14s back on and the original hubcaps down the road...ah decisions..decisions...decisions  LOL... thats whats so fun about these cars, also hearing everyones point of views are great!

looks good with black
a friend of mine is Building a Capri Ceam 67 Camaro  ,rare colour
only 4% of camaro's came that colour

of 220,906 camaro's built in 67,only 9000 were Capri cream

so far between September 2nd 66 and June 16th 67 there are only 4616 Acadians!    i heard about 4850?

so 4% of that is 194 cars ? (just a guess)

see how rare these cars are against Camaro's?
