HELP ! HELP! where is the Chassisno. from my Pontiac Parisienne 69? he was assembled by YUTIVO-COMPANY in Manila, Phili.

hello to all

my parisienne was already registred in the Philippines. but now, after 40 years, theu ask from the registrationoffice LTO for the stencil of my chassis-number!!!yawn

it's normal in the philippines, that they make it more complicated, when the owner is a foreigner. (moneymaking).no

What I have is: the plate, fixed inside the engine-room, from YUTIVO. but the wouldn't accept this plate. they want the stencil od the chassis. they told, it must be somewhere under the floormats! (laugh). confuse

Do You have any idea, where I can find a chassis-no?

thanks for any answer!

do they want a vin # or a body #?

is there a plate in your door jamb

you would think your vin thats on your plate would be what they wanted

ie 763699YE ......

Usually a chassis # means the same as a VIN..
Sounds like they're messed up so if they won't accept the #'s on your plate and there's no more # plates affixed anywhere, try giving them the stamped #'s off the engine and see if that flys?.

If the engine is original, clean off and check the forward protruding area of the engine block for stamped #'s where it sticks out further than the head on the RH side..
copy any stamped #'s down and give them the #'s that are different than the #'s on the plate..

Is your car LHD or RHD?.
Either way, your car was probably Canadian built and shipped KD w/ the final assembly by Yutivo..

Good luck!.

Simply open your drivers door Hanspeter and remove the aluminum sill plate, pull back the rug and you'll find a body number stamped there.

If its a Canadian Budd frame they'll be a chassis number on the drivers side rail running from behind the rear wheel to the bumper. Outboard side.

hi

I did it. there is a number on the drivers=site, but a very different! since I know, that this number was never in the last 40 years registred, and it's a very different no, i'm affraid to confuste them more!!

Thats the Philippino Governement! complicated!

once I got a Volkswagen from the heirs of a katholic priest. one important paper was loacking already many years. The priest didn't had any problems; until I got the car!

I'll try now with the "YUTIVO"-Plate. hope they accept it.

else I need a "stamp-maker" !ashamed

thanks for Your help.

The number on the frame is it's part number, and it will be the same as thousands of other Pontiacs. The only VIN I can think of will be on the body somewhere. Were they at the base of the windsheild in 69?
VIN = Vehicle Identification number.

we try now with the correct VIN no. on the plate from yutivo! maybe they accept. they never had another stencil.

else, I'll go to the land transportation office in my island bohol. then I let them search the number. my problem is right now in LTO cebu!

choke only, that this problem is coming up the first time since the registration in 1969 !!!confuse

Hi, to all, who was helping me about our CHASSIS-No! (VIN)

the story in the LTO CEBU is going on!

I sent them the stenzil of the YUTIVO-Plate inside the engineroom. They don't accept!

-removed the Yutivo-Plate: nothing under this!
-I cleaned the chassis left and right, between the rearwheels and the bumper: nothing

The really story is, that the Philippine-Plate-No and the registrationcard was stored in the LTO(Transportation Office) 7 years ago. They lost it!
We have all the documents about this. Now, coz they can't accept a own made fault-that's why they are looking now for a "revange".  Even, this Car was already registred for 1969, they found NOW a locking VIN-No !

Even, the Car was assembled in Yutivo-Manila, that's nothing for them!

THEY WANT TO SEE A NON EXISTING VIN-NO !!!!

Since i sealed the whole chassis last month, it's not so easy to remove all the epoxy-rubber!

Question again: WHERE the CHASSIS-NO can be???  I'm happy about any additional idea!

Fazit: If You are a foreigner in the Philippines, You will have always problems like this. it's already my 3.time. Even mistakes from a office; it will be sett5led on Your shoulders!

It's a nice country....bvut!

Thanks for any answers

Hanspeter (more than disappointed!)

hello again.

thanks for Your photo from the possible VIN-No.

I cleaned now the whole bow araound the wheels, left and right side, and I couldn't find any number.

Is Your photo made in the straight-chassis from the bow to the bumper?

my pontiac is left hand rive. the muffler is on the driverside.

maybe with Your help, I can find something!

Thanks for Your kind answer!

i dont under stand why they cant take the serial #

Yutivo Trim Tag

Looking at the above Yutivo cowl tag, one first notices that it combines elements of both the U.S. VIN plate as well as the Fisher Body cowl tag. It is easy to see that the first seven characters of the Yutivo VIN, "123379Y" followed the U.S. model. "12337" is the style for a Chevrolet Camaro 6-cylinder coupe. The "9" that follows represents the model year, 1969. And the "Y" represents the Yutivo assembly plant. The next seven digits, "184019Y", are Yutivo specific. 184019 is the XCO number, and "Y" indicates the 23rd unit within the XCO set of 24 units Below the VIN are the codes for the (917 is "Champagne" as used by the U.S. window sticker paint codes) and the (719 is Red Custom).

From your pictures you have a Budd frame , so the frame was obviously made in North America.

You should find your partial vin # on the frame , just above the "Budd" stamping. The vin # will be on the top rail. You may have to take the body off the frame  to visually see it ( or use a small mirror)

I've just removed a 69 pontiac body off of its frame last week , and you can see the vin # . Drivers side, on top of rear frame rail . You may have the scrape off the dirt or rust to see the stamp .

Remeber this is a parial vin # , but should show assembly plant # and last series of vin #'s. ( If they followed North American practices)

Hope this helps

Hi to all of You !

Tnaks for all Your advises!
Today I visited the Transportationoffice in Tagbilaran, bohol. the new chief was very concerned abaout my problem. He garanted me a immatriculation for the next year, even it's not clear for the office in Cebu. I can drive now legal, even no Platenumber!

after, I went to the CRIMELAB of the Philippine-National-Police.

And, what they found?......The VIN# !! It was on the top of the dashboard, driverside, a small plasicframe, who was looking like a defroster. Now, they got alle the numbers, included a official report, that all the numbers are correct.

with this, Cebu has now no more reason, to block something! Even the guys in the crimelab told me, that it looks like a revange, coz the LTO cin Cebu lost the Platenumber and the Carregistrationform!

I inform You again, when everything is finally ok !

regards from the hot philippines to canada!

hanspeter
