Great stuff! If only GM had Canadian Pontiac promo's! I remember as a young kid going to Sinclair Pontiac in London with my dad. They had a display case full of promotional items and there were several promo models (U.S cars). A salesman reached into the display case. I thought it was my lucky day. What did he give me? A 1/64 scale die cast VAUXHALL VIVA! :(
It's ironic...the tool and die work on alot of the promos in that article was done in Windsor, Ontario, making the promos themselves Canadian Ponchos(!)
Todd, your trip to Sinclair Pontiac reminds me of the Detroit auto shows held at Cobo Hall in the '60's. Back then AMT used to have a glass display case in the lobby full of promos for sale. I remember bringing a turquoise Bonneville HT home from the '61 show and a blue Bonneville convertible in '63' Ah, the good old days.
