Wasp not the band

Making a Delivery yesterday I was attacked by the Wasp national air force. It was a real shock and ow campaign. I look like Sloth (hey you guys) my right hand is swollen up like Kirks from the new Star Trek. I was real careful opening the lid but didn't pay attention to the tree. The 1 thing I learned is Springer Spaniels are a BADA@# dog. This dog was my hero went after those wasp like my dad to a doughtnut (retired cop joke sorry painkillers) I have 18 bites on my head neck and arms.

I got nailed yesterday mowing grass.  I bailed off and ran in time and only got one not 18!   Still itches though but I'm too tough(or something) to put on sting stop like my wife suggested.

Lots in Alberta this year!

Sounds like the painkillers are a blast though. keep smiling!

Years ago I must have stepped on a batch of them and had 7 hits. I know how that felt, it put me out on the couch for the evening.

I feel for you. I hope it heals up real quick. That can't be much fun...

I feel for you. Worst I had was 4 bee stings, bees aren't near as bad as wasps.

My dad was attacked by a swarm of bees when he was a kid. It was his own fault as he was tormenting the hive. He got stung from head to toe (including in his mouth). His mom got quite a few stings trying to get the bees off him. He ran into the bathtub and basically had to wait until it filled with water.

I've been lucky and have never been stung.

Bees of all sorts don't bother me. Helping a buddy get an old pepsi cooler he bought, years ago. The nest was under it, and it had been sitting on the ground so it had sunk(was there for years) The wasps had built the nest under the whole cooler. We started to lift it off and Man there was a lot of them...LOL He took off runnin, and I was standing there with these bees flyin all around. Not one even came close to me. He ran to a phone booth and then had to run into the office(it was an old trailer park) because they followed him.
Anyways, I was left to hook up a chain to the cooler, and drag it a couple feet away from the nest, and load it up, into my truck. A neighbor came and gave me some wasp spray, and I proceeded to stand over the nest and spray them like I was painting them, never realizing that that stuff would spray 20 feet...LOL

Same here. I have a theory that if you show fear to any animal they won't attack or they will back down.
I haven't tested this theory on Grizzlies yet!biggrin

I have sprayed, poured boiling water on, and burnt (with diesel fuel/gasoline mix) tons of bee/wasp/hornet nests. I've been stung maybe 5 times.
