Newbie to this whole thing, and a girl to boot! ;) Just bought my first resortation car, a 59 Pontiac Laurentian. I LOVE IT!
First thing I noticed was that I am missing one of the stars on my rear quater panel. Any ideas where I could find another one?
My dad, who is over seeing this project, notes that I need a new steering column. It has been modified from a 3 in the tree to an auto (not the original engine).
I apologize for the lack of technical terms, Dad put his early hot rod efforts into my brother, so I spent time with mom in the kitchen. Yes I have a classic car and I make mean cookies.
another 59, finally!!!! i will take a look at the steering column in a parts one i found and see if it will work for you. As for the stars, they can be tricky, hopefully 67 poncho can help you there. Not too many of these around, looks like yours in in good shape. Do you need interior and are you doing an original resto?? Mines more of a rat rod, easier on the pocketbook and i love matte black!! Glad you came aboard, its nice to see another 59, i think now there is 3 of us here (giovanni is another, beautifull car he has)
Thanks everyone! YAY! I'm so excited! I'll talk to Dad and see what exactly I need for the steering column....I am sure you need more details than that. Like I said, total rookie here! :)
59 Poncho - I was checking out your car the other day! It is pretty sweet! That flat black looks mean! I think I am going to do a pearl white eventually....keep is quasi girly! lol You really don't see many around, I can't wait to get mine rolling...hopefully next summer. As for the interior I am hoping to keep it close to originial. My mom does all the interiors for our cars, so I have some fabric samples coming and already have the carpet samples. Do you have any pictures of what the interior looked like? I think my door panels were original but the seats had already been re-covered.
Vincent Jr- Where is that car? I noticed it has alberta plates...that's where I am too! It would be awesome if you could check for me next time your out there!

The car is here in Sask just west of 'Stoon roughly 3 hours from me. Next time I am there, in about 3 weeks, I will get the stars if nothing else. Here is the link and the actual list of '59's we have thus far... (Hopefully you will be next!!)
