Has anyone converted their stock steering column to a tilt ?? Will a 1969 Chevelle tilt fit a Beaumont ?? I have a 1969 Beaumont I have converted from a 3 speed auto column shift to a 5 spd floor shift and would like to change columns. Thanks Guys.

I know for 67 and down the GTO tilt is the correct fit for a Beaumont. The Chevelle tilt doesn't fit right at the dash.

Not sure about 68 and up but I suspect it will be GTO again since that is what your dash is. As far as bolting in and working, yes, Chevelle fits/works but cosmetically I think you want a Lemans/GTO tilt.

1969 was the first year for a common column in the GM A body cars. The difference being the turn signal lever.
The four speed / standard shift column is unique because of the reverse lock out. It uses a different arm for the reverse rod that comes from the lock out lever.
68 Beaumont and earlier uses a Lemans/GTO column. As Carl said earlier the shape of the column does not fit the dash.

I learned something new. I always thought it was just the same arm that hooked up to the auto trans shift linkage since it simulated an automatic being put into park.

Never too old to learn....
