ID help - 1966 SD Canso

Hi
New to the site any help much appreciated

Just bought a project car that I wanted when I was a kid 30 years ago lost touch with the car and just reappeared in my life last week.
Back then Black primer ,rear wheel wells cut with 50 series tires American Racing mags and ford straight axle....

Anyway need some help figuring numbers out nearest I can tell 1966 Canso Sport Deluxe, V8 car with glide, Lemonwood yellow, black interior

Trim tag is 71837 1-10-13..................I had figured Jan 10th.....but not sure what the 13 was ???

Serial num 71837000530
So with this indicate 530 th off the line ?
Any help is much appreciated...............and anybody that may have parts for this model I would sure be interested in knowing as I will need a fair amount

Thanks

Just looking at the production numbers and for model 1837 shows as 552 produced. Low number for sure. What engine do you have ? 283 or 327 ?

Thanks for the welcome and info

Is there anyway of figuring out if this was a 327 car other than GM Canada ?

I am pretty sure it was the 283 version but not a 100 % sure, was told years a go it had a 283 at least at one time

Thanks again

Yah, me too the only one I have is in my memory.....and that is fading so I better get to work on it

The car still has the faded out worn out black primer on top of the original paint, but stock frt suspension back on it didn`t have any rims and tires on it most the glass smashed out, it has been sitting for about 30 years in the trees but amazing enough floor pans are really good as is the frame it will need a trunk floor
Still has brand new (30 years ago) black primered GM front fenders few dings in them but not rusted.

But ya it was a very cool looking old school gasser type back then....couldn`t believe I found it, use to have Dream Weaver painted on the 1/4 panels

In case you don't see my post in your other thread, check the fuel line size (5/16 for 283 and 3/8 for 327) if it has never been changed from original.

That sounds like a great find.

I seem to recall seeing a vintage picture of a drag car with Dream Weaver on it ... anyone else?

Is it the original rear and what is it?.
Comparing rear code stampings against those available w/ specific engine RPO's sometimes helps learn what original engines were..

Sounds like a cool piece!.
