Header fitment for sbc 350 in 56 Laurentian

I am wanting to put headers on my 56 Laurentian. Is there specific measurements or numbers that I could look into so that if I were to order some I would know beforehand if they would fit. I also have a few friends with some sbc headers kicking around. I would like to have an idea of what I'm looking for before I try to get them to bring my by their headers. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I am not opposed to removing the bellhousing mounts.

You need a set from a 55-57 Chev. You can order for the type of engine mounting system you have. ie original style front and rear bellhousing mounts or side mounts.

so ordering them is the only way to know what will fit? I guess I might just have to cruise around to all my pals places and pick up their headers that they are willing to sell me (super cheap, maybe even free) and then just try them to see what fits.

If they are from a Camaro or Chevelle they will not fit. You can try massaging a set if you get them for free but for the fustration factor save some money and buy a new set.

Thanks, I will surely keep that in mind. I love the idea of NEW headers.

you will waste the price of a set of headers  driving around 'trying On headers"
