WHY???

69 Beaumont on Ebay cloned to a Chevelle SS. So you take a car that is fairly rare and make it look like the other 200,000 Chevelle SS clones??

I guess we haven't promoted Canadian Poncho enough so far.

I would have to agree with you. I can't imagine turning my Acadian into a Nova.

I DO plan to turn my Nova into an Acadian though!

It bugs me the same as people that will take a vintage GMC and put the trim on to make it look like a chev. i have seen more then a few. is it because the stuff is being repoped for chev, and its the easy way out?

I think I would have prefered to clone it into a SD but thats just me. It was already a model 3337 Deluxe car one of 715 produced.  Maybe he thought he would get a better return on his dollar if it was a chevelle. And he might.

In his auction write-up he says:

"
there are many extra parts available some shown in the one photo."

I wonder if he hung onto the '69 Beaumont specific parts?

I know the guy that owns this car through my job. I asked him why he made the car into a Chevelle. He told me that he was not able to find the Beaumont parts that he needed and it would be worth more as a Chevelle. ????????????????

This car still has the Beaumont dash and depending on what was done to the tailpanel it may not be that hard to switch it back but it would require a some repaint. It's too bad it has been changed and I suppose it would be better as far as value if it were completely changed.
It's not the first Beaumont I have seen turned into a Chevelle and probably won't be the last. no

It would be really interesting to know what the reserve bid is on this one. Starting at $5,000.00 seems a long way off what I imagine he thinks it's worth now it's a cloned Chevelle. Sure makes ya wonder and scratch yer head sometimes. I have to agree it's rarer as a Beaumont than the 200,000 other cloned Chevelles running around the planet! And Stephenzone, you're so right about the old GMC trucks too! I just hate it when the eyebrow hoods are changed for the flat hoods! They only ran those eyebrow hoods for '60 & '61 (which some people might say thank goodness for that I'm sure) so why not grab a '62-'66 that have the flat hoods anyways? Logic doesn't seem to enter into either of these equations of cloning a Beaumont or making a Chev truck out of a GMC! Heck, GMCs are tough enough to find as it is.

Yes but the same Dude may also have turned a Canadian 300 convertible (1 of 96)into an SS 427 clone (1 of 1,000,000) so he's only battin 50/50.

Carl, when I get around to doing up my 65 Chevelle 300 Deluxe, I'm really thinking of changing it over to a Beaumont.

Also, why do so many people put those stripes on 68 and 69 Chevelles ( or Beaumonts)bleh

I ask people the same question when I see them on their car. I am not trying to be rude I just wonder why. Some people answer, most either have a rude comment or get defensive. My wife likes them. I don't like them even when they are supposed to be there.
I asked a guy at a show why he put the 69 SS side stripe on his Beaumont. He told me that the correct one was not available for a Beaumont. I turned and looked at my car and Kevin's car and said it is available. He then told me that the side stripe looked better. To each his own.

It looks like a decal version of the side molding on my 69 Beaumont custom. I realy like the SD stripes on you car Brad.  I wonder if I put them on my Custom with SC350 on the side for gigles. I kind of what if car. A sport Custom instead of a Sport Deluxe.

How about a 65 SD cloned to a 64 Beaumont. The tail lights and the whole works?????? That was one weird car and it was done nicely.
