Made it back last night to Toronto airport around 9:15 pm got home at midnight. Had a good time there for nephew's wedding. I stayed on resort but did manage to find a 56 chevy in parking lot. [210 4 dr] Owner was there & spoke some english. Chevy was "powered" by a KIA 4 cyl diesel,thru a Honda 6 spd. trans. all hooked up to orginal column shifter??? Most of the "old Iron" has been re-powered by offshore diesels, saw 53 buick & 54 Olds on way back to airport "belching" out black smoke!!! Lots of new cars there, Honda, Toyota,Nissan, Hundyia, & Peugout [France] & Geely [China] all tour buses were brand new & from China!!! Resorts are "BOOMING" & building more & more to keep up with the flow of tourists

Nice to see the kid from Simcoe get out of Cuba after being held there for over 3 months for a car accident that was not his falt. I don`t think I would ever travell there if thats the way their system works. He was looking at 1 to 3 years in jail.
They obviously didn't heed the advice of tour or travel agent. We were told not to rent a car or motorcycle under no UNCERTAIN terms!!! before & after we got there!!!!! This was mths. before this happened to him & his family!!!! Unfortunate for them that this happened, but they didn't listen & you are in a "foreign" country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
the only one I saw was the 56 chevy in the parking lot of resort, as I didn't go anywhere else [other than the bars in resort]& a few out the window of bus. I took some pics. & will have to go thru the other 200 that the wife took& see if I can separate them

Carl, don't think you'll ever get that money spent here, nothing here to compare with the beaches, weather, all incluesive resort & outrageous taxes here on everything[except the 25 peso exit fee from cuba airport] Canada & Ontario are taxing us to death & the small amount of tourist's that come here are getting nailed now "big time" with the HST [Harper screw Tax] now on hotel rooms, taxis,food, & gas etc.
