Was able to make it up to the the Kamloops show after 4 hours sleep (28th anniversary) and wasn't dissappointed as the city totaly embraces this show and actually welcome you there rather than you feeling you are interfering with their daily business.  Besides Portland I've never had so many people come up and get involved in discussion as this show, was a whole lot of fun.  Had a great spot right across from Boston Pizza.  One of the nice guys comes to me and says he had a 65 Beaumont that he ordered new with the 327 350 horse, 4 gear.  So I said to him there sure weren't many of those around, probably less than 30.  So he then tells me the story he almost ended up with 2 L79s.  He originally ordered a L79 Chevelle out of the Port Alberni dealership and put a deposit down on it.  A short time later a friend of his had connections and he could get the Beaumont L79 wholesale for 800 dollars less from I think it was the Carter dealership.  So he went with that and then finally got his deposit back from the Port Alberni dealership.  He said they didn't have any trouble selling it because in those days Port Alberni had the highest average income in Canada, that's when the forest industry was humming.  He had bought the car just before he got married and only kept it a year and a half as his family expanded.  He said he lost contact where  it went but it had a cigarette burn in the back seat.  Anyhow met some really nice people there and had a good time.  Will try to get some pictures up later but have to run now.
