While I try to decide to go new or vintage the awful truth about auto insurance rears it's ugly head. I have to research this now. Which is gonna hurt me less -- new or used? Will an SRT8 Hemi new cost more than a '69 454? Maybe I'll get punished over color?
Nope. If you plan to only drive your vintage car for pleasure only it will be cheaper. A car appraised at 20k is only about $200 per year through Silver Wheel. If you go with historic plates, it's only $18 per year to license it.
Is Silver Wheel across Canada? I could use cheaper insurance on my pleasure vehicles.
What is required to get antique plates in Alberta and what is the purpose of it? Does it mean that I don't have to pay $75/year just for a new sticker on my old cars? Hope so.
