Is it worth restoring???

Hi guys,

I have a 1957 Laurentian in pretty bad shape; all floors, floors braces, complete trunk area, basically anything below the wheels wells is rusted through.

I have 2 pairs of front fenders that could be used to make one good pair, there is body work to be done on all doors and both quarters.

Finally, I just noticed today that the top of the car is very flexible, I can bend towards the bottom with one finger..I assume this is not supposed to be this way..

Anyway I spoke to 2 bodymen and both told me it would cost around 40-50K just to do the bodywork

I have already found another car, but I am wondering if I should try to sell it to someone who could do the bodywork himself ( I can't) or just don't bother and scrap it..

Any advise or anyone intersted??

Thanks
Steve

To be blatantly honest, at best this might be a parts car. Not worth that incredible expense. Not worth it at all. George.

I would say take the good parts off and scrap the rest.

Thanks guys,

That's what I thought but I guess I needed confirmation.

Also it's tough to scrap the car, when you spent the last 7 years restoring parts, only to realize that your project isn't worth it..

At least, my other car is a 57 also, so I'll be able to use them on it.

Thanks

Hi Jonathan,

The car is currently in transit, but for sure I'll post something as soon as it arrives home :)
