New member, thinking about buying a 64 Beaumont, quick questions

Can the the 283 be replaced with a 350 in a 64 Beaumont? Drop in, or does it require modification? Thanks.

Just bolt in and go! You might find that the bellhouse lower flywheel covers won't fit to the older trans but that's it. Your trans length matters but you can check that.

Hi its a perfect combo. I have a 1964 custom with a 350 rom an 86 Z28 and it fit with no extra work involved. I changed the powerglide to a R700 trans. Lots of room left to play-headers and dual exhaust. Have fun with the project!

Follow this advice and change the transmission also. R700 or better yet a 5 speed!

It's a bolt in. You either have to bolt on all the brackets etc from the 283 or use them all from the 350. They won't mix and match. If you want it to look original, bolt on all the 283 brackets etc. The only thing is, the valve covers from the 283 can't be used on the 350 because the pcv setup is unique on the 283.
