100% original 1957 Pathfinder Deluxe vs non-original 1957 Laurentian???

Hi guys,

Another 1957 question.

Which car has the best value?

A 100% original Pathfinder Deluxe 4-door sedan
                                    OR
A V8 Laurentian with a 6-cyl engine and Pathfinder chrome-trims
(all the parts to bring it back to 100% original Laurentian are there but not on the car)

Thanks
Steve

Wait, someone turned a V8 laurentian into a 6cyl pathfinder????

Isnt that sort of like turning a 409 impala into a 6cyl biscayne?  who does that?

Pics are required.

Something fishy here. Why would they change it. sounds more like they changed the vin than the motor

57poncho,

That's exactly what I think.

My question was : is the car less valuable if the VIN doesn't match the car or the car doesn't match the VIN?

Thanks

Is there evidence on the Laurentian that the Laurentian parts were on it? Ie; holes for the 1/4 panel chrome, outline of the fender script in the paint etc?Certainly less valuable if it is a converted Pathfinder Deluxe than an actual Laurentian, and if there's been VIN jiggery-pokery going on I'd stay away.
