Calgary area guys, anyone know of a red 67 SS427 hardtop?

This is a longshot but just wondering if the car is still around. In the early 80's I was at a GM dealership that had gas pumps. One day I looked out from the parts counter and what is at the pumps but a red/red/red 67 Impala SS427 4 speed car. It had Alberta plates on it and was heading west. The owner said he was on his way back from a trip. I never thought to get his name and never see anything of the car at shows or whatever. Anyone? It would be like this except a red roof.

I haven't seen it either. Maybe some of the other Albertans might know?

I bet it is parked in somones garage or barn. Isn't that what happens to 427 cars? Seems like the only 427 cars left are parked. We see far more 396's at the shows. Sure hope it shows up someday.

I just pulled that shot of a 67 off Google to illustrate. I think it's a classic car place in the US somewhere.

The thing that intrigued me most about this car heading west was I that had just finished reading my new Hemmings and the identical car was advertised in Florida in that Hemmings. The driver was not at all willing to discuss the car with me. He came from the south and we are just 25 miles north of the US border. When I mentioned the one for sale in Florida it seemed our talk time was over! It's far fetched but I was wondering if he had bought it and flown down with his Alberta plates and driven it home...

I hope it's not in a field somewhere because it was in beautiful shape!

No, it was red from top to bottom, inside and out. I loved how RED it all was!

Did it have a small dent in the front bumper, and a stone chip, by the rear view mirror?
