Here I am sitting in my hotel room in Sault Ste Marie and I see you've already posted about the 50/50 ticket mix up between my wife and I. It was hard to tell who was enjoying it more Colin or you. I think I actually saw you rubbing tears off your face you were laughing so hard!!
Really glad I was able to meet Fred, Willie, Brad, Bill, Beaumont Bill, Mike Ray, etc. Hope I didn't miss any one. Finally met some of the Canadian Poncho members at the show.
At least the long distance trophy is easier to pack this time.

That Buick Caballero is awesome! and yes I read up on the Fiesta. That car was local to our nieghbourhood so we knew it when we saw it. Did you notice how he used vintage coolers to house his speakers?

This looks like the best car show of the summer so far! I've never seen so many Beaumonts at one show. Thanks for all the awesome shots guys! For those of us who can't be there, we all appreciate the time you guys have taken to take the photos and post them for us to see.
Thanks for the pictures guys, alot of these I've seen locally or are friends cars i.e. 64 Bonniville [blue] fellow car club member, 31 Caddy dual cowl Phaeton from Port Perry & tons of others!! 1500 cars average a day at an average of $20 to $30 ea. + $10 person entrance fee for the walk in crowd, somebody "raked " in alot of $$$$$ Thats the only thing that "ticks" me, if you can only go on the Sunday, lets say, you still pay the whole shot for the wknd. & without our cars, THERE IS NO SHOW am & wrong here in my thinking??? I've never attended this one, too big, too expensive, think once your in there your stuck for the day??

Ya, but Pete, what day-long entertainment can you get for 10 - 30 bucks nowadays? Sounds like the CP boys had a blast! Wish I was there!

as for the money, i prepaid $20 for the show. that allowed me parking downtown fri for the street party, entrance for both sat and sun plus a niffty T-shirt. as for leaving and going, nothing stopping you, but you and your car have to be there for the draw (done around 3.00ish) also if you leave and come back you might not get your premo parking, not with over 1400 cars.
another note (just a rumour) gm wanted money for having the car show done on their lot and all the money raised at the car show is donated to charity. nice that the town stepped up to let them use the waterfront park (mayor is a car guy). also having the fri street party (no entry fee) there was only maybe 400 cars and a lot of these people never came down to see the 1400 or more in the park so alot less raised from the gate for charity. 50/50 sold out.
i asked one of the club members this morning about the parking for fri street party (very disorganized) and he said the club has nothing to do with it just the town putting it on in conjunction with the car show.

I thought the entry fee was a little high too. I couldn't find out if I could just pay for one day and did intend on going for one day only. I paid $30 because I didn't pre-register before Aug 1. It would have only been $20 if I had been on the ball. With your pre-registration you get a free show T shirt. I spoke with one of the members here that only came on Sunday. He said it was $10 for one day. He wanted a T shirt so that was an extra $20 which is the cost of most show T shirts. If you only want to go for one day and don't care if you get a T shirt it is $10.
Next year I will pre-register early for $20 even if I am only staying one day.
I agree with Brad, pre register for $20 then you are free to attend any day and stay as long as you like. I think I will do that next year and bring my LeMans, that way I get to drive right in for good parking rather than walking down Simcoe for about half a mile. If you want to leave early there is a back way out that causes no distraction with the stage events going on. I have always gone on Sunday but I think Saturday may be a better choice based on what I have read and seen in photos here.
