Very cool! That is a beautiful car. I can see why you would like to find it.

Yeh I wish I had it but not for the money. That one is part of the family. Both of them. I gave my Blue 65 SD 283 4 spd to my Dad this year and it is a twin of this car minus the L-79 but it will have to do. He is 65 and he now owns another 65. Kinda makes sense eh? I hope he runs the pants off of it!!

That is EXACTLY the same as the 65 I had in Parksville---same colour---same whitewalls---I put Goodyear Double eagles on mine and burned them off in about 5 months---found out later those tires were meant for a heavier car and wouldn't take the horse power drag starts of the Beaumont.
have a look in the backseat---if there's a big cigarette burn in the seat it's my car without the engine--haha
Very Nice car---you've done a good job on it---Awesome!

Actually Garry that is a original photo of my dad in his L-79 in 1965 in Port Alberni by the Arena. This is the one I gave him.

Yes, that's my dad in the picture. I assumed it was in 65 but it could be taken in 66. I would have to ask my dad.

What type of shifter  is that in the '65 Beaumont SD ?

It sure isn't the original one.

It's a aftermarket Hurst. I have the original Muncie but as you know they are very sloppy and this style is easier to reach for a gear. My dad misses the original also because he likes the reverse lockout. The original looks like this shifter.
